Rumah Terbalik @ Tamparuli, Sabah

By : Chha

Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with your eyes and no you brain is not playing tricks on you, haha ! The house in the photo is really Upside Down ! haha .. Just like the Upside Down Museum (颠倒博物馆) in Kimberley Street, Penang, everything in this house is Upside Down. This place is call the Rumah Terbalik of Tamparuli, Sabah !

I was kinda dissapointed when we were told that we are not allowed to take photo inside the Rumah Terbalik but since photograph is only allowed outside the house then i can only show you photos of how the house roughly looks like from outside.

Rumah Terbalik is Upside Down of course, haha !

Rumah Terbalik at Sabah is not hard to find, you can easily spot this big sign board by the side of the road.

It is not a very big place actually, the Rumah Terbalik here only consist of a Upside Down house, a small Upside Down garden, a Upside Down car, a Upside Down toilet and a souvenir shop which is not upside down, hahaha ... It is a small place, you can spend roughly around 2 hours to finish visit the place but it took us longer because we took alot of photos, haha ..

Only a small group of people are allowed to enter the Rumah Terbalik at one time, so we have to wait in line for our turn which took approximately around 15 to 20 minutes, that is also the time of each tour inside the Rumah Terbalik guided by a local tour guide. We are not allowed to take photo inside the house and we are also not allowed to touch anything.

For me, i personally think that visiting the Upside Down Museum (颠倒博物馆) in Kimberley Street, Penang is more fun compare to the Rumah Terbalik here in Sabah. The reason, maybe is because, we are not allowed to take photos and we can't touch any items inside the house, i do understand that they want to preserve the Rumah Terbalik as it is so that other people don't spoil it by touching them, which is good but i feel kinda boring there, hahaha ! The only thing that entertain me is the time spend with friends making jokes and taking silly photos of ourselves, haha .. Rumah Terbalik is still recommended for a short visit if you have never been to a Rumah Terbalik before or if you happen to be nearby the Rumah Terbalik. Overall, it is still a good experience. Hey, at least .. i've been there, to the Rumah Terbalik in Tamparuli, Sabah
