Semi-Buffet Lunch by The Glasshouse @ The Prestige Hotel, Georgetown, Penang

Always making sure that their patron get the best and something new from time to time. The Prestige Hotel Penang always come up with something new for their patron to try and keeping the experience they had together with The Prestige Hotel fresh and exciting always. This round, The Prestige Hotel is serving their tasty yet reasonably priced Semi-Buffet Lunch at their beautiful and comfortable The Glasshouse restaurant.

Chicken Schnitzel


Semi-Buffet means guest get to choose one Main Course from the list of food available in their menu and the rest of the food is free flow from their Buffet section. There are few different types of Main Course that guest can choose from. During my visit, I manage to try their Chicken Schnitzel which is made from breaded chicken breast serve with buttered corn, zucchini sticks, coleslaw and fries. This plate of Chicken Schnitzel is tasty and I really enjoyed myself there.

Nyonya Ulam Rice


There is also the Nyonya Ulam Rice available as their Main Course from The Prestige Hotel's Semi-Buffet Lunch which is made from fragrant rice, grilled chicken with spices, salted egg, papadam, cucumber slices, fried eggplant, anchovy crumbs and chili shrimp paste.

Creamy Truffle Fettuccini

If you are a pasta lover, The Prestige Hotel got you covered with their Creamy Truffle Fettuccini which is made from fettuccini, sauteed mixed mushroom, cherry tomatoes, truffle paste, crushed walnuts and some fried eggplant. Other than that, there are also food like Fish and Chips which is made from deep fried seabass in herb batter, fries and coleslaw. The Squid Ink Spaghetti Aglio E Olio which is made from squid ink spaghetti and serve with prawn, squid, mussels and chilli. There is also Crispy Chicken Burger which is made from crispy deep fried chicken, charcoal bun, lettuce, tomato slices, gherkin, fries and smoked paprika mayonnaise from the Semi-Buffet Lunch menu.

Prawn Noodle


If a plate of Main Course is not enough then at the buffet section is where guest can get creative with what they want to eat as there are a lot of food to choose from. For something more filling there are food like Prawn Noodles where the Chef will prepare it as per order so that it is serve hot. In my opinion, the Prawn Noodles at The Glasshouse restaurant is a must try ! A bowl of this Prawn Noodles is just not enough for me. The broth is flavorful and the noodles is not overcooked giving it a nice texture.




I love it when all my food are serve hot so I went straight to the Congee section to have my bowl of Plain Congee with Condiments. Since the Congee is plain, guest can add a many side dish as they like from the buffet section.

As Condiments for the Congee there are some basic Condiments available like carrot, eggs, beans and Soy Sauce but guest can choose to add more different dish to the Congee if they wish to be adventurous with their choice of food for their Congee. There are food like Steamed Corn and Chickpeas, Sauteed Mixed Vegetables and a lot of Salad of which I personally think is suitable to go with the Congee as well too.

In addition to that, there is also food like Cold Salad Pasta, Chicken Sausage, Chicken Ham and for smaller bites there are food like Cheese Platter for all cheese lover. Guest can also mix and match different type of food from the buffet table onto their Main Course.














To complete the Semi-Buffet Lunch, The Glasshouse restaurant also prepare some Dessert like Assorted Cakes, Muffins, Pudding and Ais Kacang for their dine in guest.

What interest me is the Snacks that The Glasshouse at The Prestige Hotel provide for their Semi-Buffet Lunch. As they name it, the Vintage Biscuits and some old school snack from the old days which bring back many childhood memories. It is nice to snack on those food while digesting all the tasty food from the Semi-Buffet Lunch.

Finally, flush it all down to the satisfying tummy with a hot bowl of Tomato Soup which I enjoy having during my Lunch there at The Prestige Hotel and also enjoy some freshly cut fruits and fruits punch drinks before ending the Semi-Buffet Lunch at The Glasshouse in The Prestige Hotel with style !
