Start from a small simple stall in a Coffee Shop at Batu Lanchang with few simple items from their menu, Golden Bowl is now expending their business into their own shops and adding more food to their menu. Though they have shops now at places like The Promenade and New World Park but i still enjoy dining here at Batu Lanchang where it all begin, haha !
Mushroom Set RM 8.50
People say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so to skip breakfast is not recommended, therefore, head on over to Golden Bowl to grab your breakfast, if you are into something simple for breakfast, Golden Bowl’s breakfast set is suitable for you. I tried their Mushroom Set, there is Mushroom Sauteed, 1 Toast, 2 Sausage, 1 Ham and 2 Egg. For the egg, you can choose to either have Omelette, Scramble Egg or a Sunny side up.
Cheezy Milky Maggie RM 8.90
Since Golden Bowl is famous for their Noodles, so their noodles here is a must try. I like their Cheezy Milky Maggie, the Milky flavor taste like Carbonara to me and the cheese that melt in this bowl of noodles make the noodle extra creamy. I don’t like my Maggie being over cooked and Golden Bowl cook it well, the noodles are not over cooked and it is springy, haha !
Curry Cheese Maggie RM 7.90
The two bowl of noodles that I tried both have an Egg, a Sausage, a Ham and Cheese in it. Curry Cheese Maggie here is a bit spicy but it is so satisfying to eat this bowl of Curry Cheese Maggie, it taste good and it even smell good too, haha !
Salted Cream Cheese Black Tea RM 5.90
The Salted Cream type of drinks seems to be famous lately, now at Golden Bowl they are having their own Salted Cream drinks too. It is kinda nice because now I don’t have to go to those expensive chain store to get a cup of Salted Cream drinks. Salted Cream Cheese Black Tea is the one I tried at Golden Bowl, it is not too sweet and the taste of the Black Tea is bold enough and the Salted Cream Cheese on top does not overwhelm the taste of Black Tea. It is refreshing .. !
Snowy Drink Hor Ka Sai (Small : RM 3.90, Medium : RM 4.90, Large : RM 5.90)
Ok now, let me put it this way, Hor Ka Sai is a drink mixture of Milo and Kopi 'O (Local Coffee) , well this may not be something new elsewhere but Hor Ka Sai is not that well known in Penang. Since Golden Bowl is serving Hor Ka Sai, then this is a plus for people who like coming here for breakfast. The Hor Ka Sai serve here at Golden Bowl is good but I feel that their Milo is too bold that it overtook the taste of Kopi ‘O, there is only a mild taste of Kopi ‘O, but I still like it though .. Now I don’t have to drive all the way to Taiping for a cup of Hor Ka Sai, haha !
Environment at Golden Bowl is just normal but I like the classic Kopitiam feel, haha ! There are seating place inside the Coffee Shop and also outside under shady trees. I prefer sitting outside in the morning as it is not that hot and to get close to nature, the tree .. haha !
Having all these special and tasty food under one roof is awesome, I can pick and match what I want to eat from their menu, then enjoy a good relaxing breakfast under big shady tree.
