Officially open on 20 October 2018, Logs Smoke House which is located along Phuah Hin Leong Street in Georgetown, Penang is serving Smoked Chicken as a Take Away Premium Fast Food. Logs Smoke House only serve Take Away Smoked Chickens and there is no dine in at their outlet in Phuah Hin Leong Street. You can make your order by calling them first then collect your order from their shop or you can walk right in to make your order.
There are many set of Smoked Chicken with Side Dish that you can choose from, there are the Picnic Yummy set which include a Quarter Smoked Chicken + choice of up to 3 side dish which is enough for one person. If you having a Quarter Smoked Chicken is not enough for you, Logs Smoke House also serve the Camping Combo which include a Half Smoked Chicken + choice of up to 2 side dish. You can always add on drinks to the set.
If you only want to try their Smoked Chicken then you can order from their ala carte menu where you can choose from either ordering the entire Whole Chicken, Quarter Chicken or Chicken Breast. I find that the chicken breast is kinda suitable for people who are working out and looking to build that extra muscle, as it save you all the hassle from preparing your own Chicken Breast.
Well, the owner of Logs Smoke House is a nature loving person, he spend a lot of his time outdoor hiking, camping and being close to nature. Being out in the wild means you have to prepare the food by yourself and by using wood the owner start up the fire and start cooking. Over the years he has perfected his technique in cooking Smoked Chicken. To him, the quality of the Smoked Chicken is the most importance, therefore he takes the responsibility in making sure that he only use good, premium ingredients in cooking his Smoked Chicken !
I am glad that i had the chance to try this Smoked Chicken first hand from the person who is well versed in cooking the Smoked Chicken, from the type of wood they use to the technique on how to cook a tasty Premium Smoked Chicken.
1 Quarter Chicken + Butter Rice, Mashed Potato, Garlic Bread
I am a small eater so i order their Picnic Yummy with 3 side dish but then i end up ordering another Quarter Chicken Ala Carte because i like it !
In short, i like every little things that is put into this set of Picnic Yummy. The Smoked Chicken is tasty even till its bone, every bite of the Smoked Chicken is tasty. Unlike other chicken that i have tried where the taste is only strong on the outside but inside it is bland. The Chicken is juicy and not too dry. The skin is not too hard and is well cooked. It feels like as if the owner marinated the chicken with herbs, well that is what it taste like to me .. I can smell the herbs like smell even before i bite into the Chicken. Butter Rice side dish is tasty too, not too buttery and not too bland, the rice is well cooked and not too hard nor too soft, i like it .. The same goes to their Mashed Potato, where it is home made and i can taste the small pieces of potato in it. As a whole, i Love the food here !
