Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa in Penang is said to be one of the best 5 stars hotel in Penang. Even their food is prepared by reputable and experience chef that brings quality and good taste to all their food in all their cafe and restaurant.
The Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa itself is a very nice place, located just by the Batu Feringgi Beach, the hotel has a modern yet classic setting environment suitable for anyone who is looking for a place to relax and unwind.
There are a few Restaurant and Cafe here in Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa and the one that i tried is Spice Market Cafe.
Spice Market Cafe is an informal ala carte and buffet style restaurant with authentic Chinese, Indian, Nyonya-Baba, Japanese, Thai, Western and other cuisines reflecting Penang’s heritage as a cultural crossroads. The Cafe sits under a canopy of the oldest rain trees that reverberate with the delightful sounds of chirping tropical birds (Source).
For me, i like to start my buffet light, with some small bite of Japanese Sushi. Though there are not much variety of Sushi available here but it is good enough for me to start my appetite before munching on something more heavy, haha !
Seafood here is fresh and its size is big, the quantity of each seafood that they serve are hug, there is no worry of the seafood finishing early. With this amount, it will definitely last until the end of the buffet.
There are a lot of mixture of food here in Spice Market Cafe, i feel like the mixture range from different country on earth, earlier we saw Japanese Sushi, then they have Chuka Idako, then the Chicken Tikka which are all originated from different places in Asia.
There are also choices of bread to choose from.
Or if you prefer to mix and match your own plate with food that you want to eat, you can always choose from their individual dish.
There is also a noodle station here where they, obviously serve noodles, haha !
After finish eating all those tasty food, it is now time for dessert, haha ! Even cakes are plenty here at Spice Market Cafe in Shangri-La's Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa
Of all the dessert here, i love their Pengat Pisang and Banana Crumble with Vanilla Sauce the most.
