Chia Bee Riverfish Restaurant which is located in Pinang Tunggal, Sungai Petani is a combination of both Restaurant and also a Fishing Pond.

Finding this place is not easy as it is located away from the main town of Sungai Petani but don't worry, i got you covered.

Getting There :

• Drive to Sungai Petani, Kedah
• Exit Tol Selatan Sungai Petani
• At First Traffic light turn Left
• Drive straight all the way for about 4 km until you reach the last T-Junction
• Turn Left and drive for about 500 meters.
• Keep to your left and look for the Chia Bee Restaurant sign board on your left.
• Once you see the sign board turn left.
• Drive straight at the junction
• Drive straight and you will see Chia Bee right in front of you.

Chia Bee Restaurant serve variety of food and their specialty here are their fish. Chia Bee is a big Fishing Pond place but with few comfortable seating place next to the Fishing Pond. The restaurant have both indoor with air conditioning seating place and also outdoor seating place if you wish to get close to nature.

Depending on your preference, it is both comfortable dining either indoor or outdoor.

Food here is tasty and especially their fish is fresh here as some of the fish are kept alive at their restaurant until the moment they clean and cook it. That makes the fish staying fresh when served.

At Chia Bee Restaurant they serve Chinese Cuisine, even though it is mainly seafood but they do it Chinese Style, haha ! You can either order ala carte or dishes to go with rice and it is served hot to your table. During my visit, i was served with dishes and rice. I like it because it actually makes me feel like home with 3 dish and a rice, haha !

Udang Galah Goreng Planta

Udang Galah Goreng Planta is one of the dish i get to try here. The Udang Galah or known as Giant Freshwater Prawn is big and tasty. I like the meat, it is very juicy and the taste of planta smell very nice and buttery. Combination of planta and egg make it very more aromatic.

Talapia Masak Tiga Rasa

I like this Talapia Masak Tiga Rasa, the outer layer of the Talapia fish is very crunchy and there is less bone inside. The sauce that is put on to it is very appetizing as it is a bit sour and spicy.

Sayur Goreng Kicap

Enough of all meat, now lets look at some vegetables. This plate of Sayur Goreng Kicap is simple and the serving is big. The vegetables that i tried here is a type of Pea Sprouts or more commonly known as Dou Miao to the locals here. It is crunchy and taste good.

Chia Bee Fishing Pond

Fishing Pond here at Chia Bee is open for public and so you can come here to fish either before or after your meal at their restaurant, haha ! Chia Bee does not provide any fishing equipment so you will have to bring your own fishing equipment if you wish to fish here.

There are some rules and charges applied at Chia Bee Fishing Pond. You need to obtain tickets at their counter which is located at the Restaurant. Tickets sold here is as per fishing rod and not per person. 1 ticket means 1 fishing rod only and no extra string allowed to be used for fishing. Duration is depending on how long you would like to fish here and the rate is RM 30.00 for 3 hours and additional RM 10.00 per hour thereafter if you wish to add extra time. If you can't fully utilize your 3 hours at one go, you can keep the remaining hour for other day, just inform the owner at the tickets counter. Remaining hour can only be kept for a maximum of 6 months time, after 6 months it will be forfeited. You can bring home your catch of the day and there won't be any extra charges. Kids below 12 years old entering the fishing pond area will need adult supervision.

If you would like to have your catch of the day be cooked and then dine at their restaurant, you are allowed to do so, just pass the fish you caught over to the owner at the restaurant and inform them that you would like it to be cook but there is only two types of cooking available, which are 'Tiga Rasa' and Deep Fried. Over all, Chia Bee Restaurant and Fish Pond is an awesome place to visit, their food is tasty and you can also enjoy fishing. Service is good and environment is nice too, with nature surrounding this place. It is soothing and calm.
