Via Pre, the Italian Restaurant in Penang island. Located strategically at Lebuh Penang, Via Pre serve many different types of Italian food. I was lost and confuse by just looking at their menu. There are a lot of Italian words that i don't even understand. I end up just blindly point at the menu and order, haha !
Via Pre is a nice place to dine in, the setting inside is done like how some western restaurant looks like. Via Pre serve many types of pasta, pizza and wine. There are wide selection of wine available here at Via Pre.
Porchetta and Taleggio RM 32.00
During my visit, i order a plate of Porchetta and Taleggio, which is actually a big plate of pizza made from Schiacciata with Taleggio cheese, plenty of traditional pork Porchetta sliced and roasted with Taleggio cheese. It is enough for two people.
Integrale ai Fagiolini and Salsiccia RM 36.00
I also tried their Integrale ai Fagiolini and Salsiccia which is a plate of spaghetti made from whole wheat spaghetti with sausage, French beans and melted Mozzarella 'Burrata'. The serving size is not too big making it suitable for one people.
Cappuccino RM 11.00
To complete my meal there, i order a cup of Cappuccino and they also serve me some bread. Personally, i feel that the food here is just average. The Pizza and Spaghetti is just normal, nothing special for me to shout about, while the bread is a bit dry and i try to dip it into the sauce that was provided, it taste odd to me, the sauce looks like a mixture of thick black sauce and olive oil, probably it is just me not being able to adapt to Italian food.
Other than wine, Via Pre also have some craft beer for you to try on.
