It is always sad to see a cafe or restaurant close down, especially when it is our favorite, but then, with old one being close new restaurant quickly replace it and start serving different type of good food to us Penangites. This has been the case in Penang all along, especially when Penang is a place known as Food Heaven. Yi Xi Shi Tang | 壹喜食堂 which is located at Summerskye, Bayan Lepas, Penang was once Clay Cafe. With Clay Cafe being close down during the MCO, Yi Xi Shi Tang | 壹喜食堂 quickly take up its place and start serving food to locals here. In terms of environment, there is nothing much change, it is still nice and comfortable for dine in.
Food serve here are simple with not many fancy items from their menu, during my visit, i ordered their Signature Char Siew Rice with Egg. The name is exactly what it is, there are some Char Siew on rice and it is serve with Egg and some vegetables. The size of serving is not very big but you can choose to order a Large bowl if you wish to eat more. While for the taste, i feel it is just average.

Recently there is this type of Bomb Deep Fried Egg which is trending now made famous in Thailand and Yi Xi Shi Tang is serving them too. Basically how this egg is being made is by deep fried it in hot boiling oil which will turn it into bloated crunchy fried egg. Here at Yi Xi Shi Tang, this fried egg is being serve with Fried Rice and Thai Sauce. For me, i personally think that the Fried Egg is oily because of its deep fried but the fried rice is nice, not too dry or sticky, just right for a fried rice.

If you want something different to eat after taking your mains, Yi Xi Shi Tang also serve some side dish but i ended up ordering their Toast. Well this is not your everyday ordinary toast, Yi Xi Shi Tang turn it into a two layer toast filled with Fresh Milk in the middle and chocolate power on top. As you cut into the toast the milk in the middle will flow out of it and you can dip the toast on it and eat it, something different to try on.

While for drinks, i had the Pineapple Soda which is refreshing but there is only a mild taste of Pineapple in it.
