Being kinda hidden away from the eyes of the public and being tucked in a housing area, what looks like an ordinary house is actually a nice looking cafe, the J's Dine House ! Located at Bandar Puteri Jaya, Sungai Petani, Kedah, J's Dine House is a big cafe made from an entire house at Bandar Puteri Jaya which serve Western Food.
From their menu i can see that they are serving few different types of Salad, namely Cured Salmon Salad, Ceasar Salad with Grilled Chicken Breast, Tasmania Chicken Salad, there are also food like Chicken Chop, Fish and Chips, Lamb and Beef, Soup, few different types of Pasta, Burgers, Pizza, Snacks and not to forget they have dessert here too. A complete blend of everything Western.
Grill Chicken Chop RM 16.80
The Grill Chicken Chop here come with choice of Mushroom Sauce, Black Pepper Sauce, Barbeque Sauce and Lemon Sauce. While the Spicy Korean Sauce is priced slightly higher than the rest. It is serve with mash potatoes and wedges. The chicken is soft and the Mushroom Sauce that i had is decent.
Roasted Chicken Leg
Because it was Christmas during my visit there, J's Dine House come up with their own special set meal. It is a 5 course meal with a drink, the serving size is small and is just enough for one person which price at RM 69.90. What i had for the set meal are Seafood Salad, Pumpkin Soup, Angel Hair with Nacho Cheese Sauce, Roasted Chicken Leg and Classic Panna Cotta for dessert. I personally like their Roasted Chicken Leg, it is marinated with various herbs and spices served with sauteed mixed vege and oven roasted potato. The chicken is soft and the sauce taste good together with the chicken. The outer layer of the chicken is flavorful and not too thick of a layer.
Angel Hair with Nacho Cheese Sauce
At first i thought that the pasta will serve in a big serving size but it was not. It is small and serve as an appetizer. It is served with potato puree and fresh gamberi prawn.
Seafood Salad
Seafood Salad here is made from variety of seafood mix with lettuce and crunchy sliced onion topped with fried leeks and onion frost, served with specialty lemon sauce.
Pumpkin Soup
Pumpkin Soup is serve hot with potato puree and homemade sourdough garlic bread. I feel the bread is not crunchy enough but it goes well with the Pumpkin Soup. All the food serving size is small, it makes me feel like as if i am dining at a fine dining restaurant.
Classic Panna Cotta
Classic Panna Cotta is actually ice cream served with a mixture homemade chocolate sauce and special berry sauce.
Overall, the environment here is comfortable and it is really nice dining in here. Food serving is really slow but it was a full house during my visit. I waited for around 1 hour 30 minutes for my food to finish serving but the weird part is, the two main course and dessert we serve together after the long wait. Service is good as their waiter and waitress is helpful and friendly. While for the food taste, i like their Roasted Chicken Leg and Pumpkin Soup, the rest is just average. Will i come back ? No problem, it is a nice place to hang out with friends.
