Tao Xiang Prawn Noodles is a hidden gem of Sungai Petani. Prawn Noodles or better known as Hokkien Noodles to the local here in Sungai Petani is now available at Tao Xiang Sungai Petani ! With slow cook flavorful thick broth Tao Xiang Prawn Noodles is something to shout for !
Located just opposite of the UTC Market or also known as the Pasar UTC Taman Bersatu in Sungai Petani, Tao Xiang Prawn Noodles is actually a hawker stall located inside the owner house, dining here give you a sense of home with calming environment and greenery surrounding it. What an awesome way to start your day with a tasty breakfast in a nice environment.
For now, Tao Xiang is only serving Prawn Noodles and some simple drinks to complete your meal. The Prawn Noodles here is tasty, with its broth being slow cooked in a steady fire for hours bring out the strong taste of prawns that is used in the noodles. You can have a choice of either Bihun or Noodles, even better, you can have a mixture of both is you want. The sambal that comes with it is not very spicy, the taste is just right for me and there is also egg being serve together with it.
The owner is very generous with the ingredient they use, making this a tasty bowl of Prawn Noodles. Overall, the food here at Tao Xiang Prawn Noodles is tasty, their setting is simple with comfortable clean environment and good service. Price is reasonable with RM 5.00 per bowl and you can request from the owner to add some special ingredient too depending on what they have on that day. During my visit, they have pork meat which goes really well with the Prawn Noodles, of course with extra ingredient, there will be extra charges but still reasonable.
