Ichi Tong | 一桐 is a new addition of place to eat in Penang, currently trending, where a lot of people are going over to try out their food, that makes me no exception, haha ! Located along Prangin Lane in Georgetown, Penang Ichi Tong serve food like Rice Series, Snack Series, Noodles Series, Seafood Mix Plate Series and some simple dessert. If you are a fans of noodles, then Ichi Tong is the place to be.
Kochabi Tok Tok Noodle Series Roast Pork RM 16.80
During my visit, i order their Kochabi Tok Tok Noodle Series Roast Pork. From the outlook, it looks like a plate of the classic Wantan Noodles, but in Ichi Tong, they do it differently where there is no wantan instead, they put Roast Pork to it. Serve with some vegetables and a bowl of soup. For the noodles you can choose to either have Tok Tok Noodle, Bihun, Mi Shua or Maggie. Wanting to have something different, i order their Tok Tok Noodle. The noodle is thin and smooth, i love the noodles, feel not enough eating it and wish to have more as the serving size is small. I am not really a fan of their Roast Pork as it is hard and not crunchy.
Special Curry Series Fresh Prawn Wantan RM 13.80
On the other hand, their Special Curry Series Fresh Prawn Wantan is nice but very very spicy ! There are a lot of ingredient put into it, there are some bean curd and ladies fingers in it. I like this bowl of Special Curry Series Fresh Prawn Wantan as it goes really well with the thin noodle that they use to make this bowl of Special Curry Series Fresh Prawn Wantan.
Ichi Tong Brown Sugar Dou Hua RM 6.80
One of my favorite is their Ichi Tong Brown Sugar Dou Hua. I am surprise when i see the shape of the Dou Hua, didn't expect it to be shaped this way, haha ! The Dou Hua is very soft and the Brown Sugar has a very concentrated texture making it goes really well with the Dou Hua but it does not over power the taste of the soya. Overall, food here is nice depending on what you order and what are your preference, i find their curry to be very spicy ! Love the environment here and service is good too.
