Serving some authentic Thai Food, 食堂 Canteen is located at Lebuh Pekaka, Gelugor, Penang. Serving mostly food with tomyam like Noodle tomyam, Rice with tomyam, Roasted Pork Tomyam Noodle, Seafood Meatball Tomyam Noodle, Roasted Pork Rice with Tomyam and more. So if you are a tomyam lover, then this is the place to be.
食堂 Canteen is a small but comfortable place to dine in, it is clean and service is good too. Food serving is fast and serving portion is just average.
Homemade Meatball Tomyam Noodle RM 9.90
My personal favorite food here is their Tomyam Noodle, the tomyam soup is so flavorful, not too spicy with egg and a lot of small pieces of meatball in it. The noodles is well cook and not too soft. A very satisfying bowl of Homemade Meatball Tomyam Noodle. There are a slice of lime in it making it very appetizing.
Thai Stew Pork Knuckle Rice RM 10.90
There are not much choice of rice here in 食堂 Canteen as they focus more on their noodles. So during my visit, i tried their Thai Stew Pork Knuckle Rice. It is serve with some vegetables and a soft boiled egg. The taste is just average for my opinion.
Thai BBQ Pork RM 10.00
The Thai BBQ Pork is also taste good, the pork meat is soft and it has some sweet taste to it. Serve in 3 piece per plate.
Thai Green Milk Tea RM 6.90
If you wish to try their Thai Milk Tea there are only two type available here, other than that, 食堂 Canteen also serve drinks like fresh fruits juice, beer, thai soy milk and more. The one i tried is their Thai Green Milk Tea, it taste good, not too sweet but i feel the Green Tea taste is mild, it would be great if it is bolder. Overall, food here is good, i would definitely come back for their tomyam noodles while enjoying their Thai BBQ Pork with a cup of drinks.
