The name Toh Soon Cafe may not be something new for Penangites. Toh Soon Cafe started to become famous at the time when they are operating at a small side street along Lebuh Campbell, this place will always be full with people when ever. Now Toh Soon expended its business to Bishop Street, some may call it as Coffee Cave Cafe but some may still refer this new place as Toh Soon Cafe just like what's shown on their sign board outside their shop.
Toh Soon Cafe at Bishop Street serve more variety of food compare to the one in Lebuh Campbell. There are more variety of coffee to choose from, more noodles, toast, rice and more. Environment here is nice, the old school looking interior design is so calming to look at. The place here is spacious and comfortable dining in. In terms of food, the serving portion is bigger too and the price is slightly more expensive.
Nasi Lemak (Chicken) RM 12.00
Won Ton Noodle (Dry) RM 10.00
I tried their Nasi Lemak and Won Ton Noodles, the taste is decent and big serving. For the Nasi Lemak, the chicken is well fried with crunchy outer layer and soft on the inside. Anchovies is crunchy too,, that is a plus point for this plate of Nasi Lemak and the sambal is not too spicy. While the Won Ton Noodle is serve with some vegetables, 3 pieces of Won Ton and some meat on top of it.
Steam Black Charcoal Sesame Bread + Homemade Peanut Butter + Homemade Kaya RM 4.50
Of course, coming to Toh Soon, the must try food is their coffee and toast. Instead of going for their usual white bread toast, instead i order their Steam Black Charcoal Sesame Bread and for the spread choose to have a mixture of Homemade Peanut Butter and Homemade Kaya mix together with this bread. The bread is soft because i choose to have it steam and the kaya is tasty, it goes well with the Peanut Butter.
Coffee with Evaporated Milk (Kopi Si)
Cappuccino
There is no doubt that the coffee here is tasty may it be their classic Coffee with Evaporated Milk or better known as Kopi Si or their Cappuccino. Both cup of coffee is nice to drink, very aromatic, a satisfying cup of coffee.
