Kampung Agong @ Penaga, Penang

By : Chha

Turning the paddy field area into a local tourist spot for some awesome photo shooting that will get you close to nature is really nice. Kampung Agong which is located in Penaga is a scenic site with greenery all around. Kampung Agong boom into a famous spot due to its calming and nice scenery. If you are someone who love green scenery and taking nice photo then Kampung Agong is the place for you to visit.

If you ask me, how long do you need to spend time here inside Kampung Agong in order to fully visit the entire place then this question depends on what you wish to you. For me, it took me half day to visit the entire place only for photo taking.

As Kampung Agong has plenty of Instagramable spot to take photo, spending more time here to get the perfect shot for your instagram is worth it. It will gives your instagram photo a close to nature kinda feel.

Some people say that Kampung Agong gives you a feel of Bali in Penang. Located in Kampung Bakar Kapor, Penaga, Penang, it is just roughly 40 minutes drive away if you are coming from the first Penang Bridge. The strange thing about Kampung Agong is that their entrance fee seems to keep increasing every year. When Kampung Agong first started off in around year 2019, their ticket price was only RM 5.00 per adult. It increase to RM 8.00 in year 2020. Then this year when i visit Kampung Agong again in November 2021, the ticket price is now RM 10.00 per adult. So i guess, it probably will increase again next year 2022. With that said, it shows that i go to Kampung Agong almost every year, haha !

If you drive there, there will be a parking fee of RM 2.00, of which i feel is reasonable. Once after you park you car, you can purchase the Kampung Agong ticket at their entrance.

Just right after the entrance, there are some stalls around that serve food. In case you are tired and wish to find something to eat or drink, you can find it here at the stalls. There are some resting area for you to take a rest while enjoying your food.

Visiting Kampung Agong is fun and calming too. There are a lot of trees around and paddy field, this place looks amazing. I could spend my entire day just walking around here or take a sit to chat with family or friend, taking beautiful photos.
