Hard Rock Hotel Penang Renews Commitment to Protect the Planet by Joining Global Earth Hour Movement
By : Chha
Hard Rock Hotel Penang is “Going Dark” this March 26 to rally humanity in the Fight Against Climate Change. Hard Rock Hotel Penang is joining forces with the World Wildlife Fund in its Earth Hour Movement, exemplifying its dedication to help save the planet. This year, together with many other Hard Rock properties around the world, Hard Rock Hotel Penang will take part by switching off all exterior and non-essential lights to reduce carbon footprint.
The Earth Hour movement is an annual event coordinated by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) – an international non-governmental organization that works to preserve wildlife and the environment – which motivates millions of people, businesses, and landmarks across the world to “GO DARK” for 60 minutes to show their commitment to fighting climate change. Hard Rock has played an integral role in previous years’ Earth Hour movements, rallying its hotels and cafes all over the world to give back in numerous ways to the 2022 event.
On Saturday March 26 at 8:30pm, all lights in the public areas of Hard Rock Hotel Penang will be switched off for 60 minutes. Guests will also be encouraged to switch off their lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm and to participate in the exciting line-up of activities at the hotel lobby. The lobby will feature a striking light display with fibre optic lighting demonstrating the hotel’s commitment to Earth Hour. The hotel’s Beach Club team will rev up the vibe with a “Moment of Surprise” and the programme for the night ends with live acoustic music by The Crush Band.
Hard Rock Hotel Penang hopes to bring a change and to make an impact by participating in this global initiative with millions of others who support climate action.
