Emperor Villa | 帝来山庄 @ Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, Penang

Honestly, i don't know how to categorize this post, is it for food or for hiking ? Anyway, this place have it both ! Emperor Villa | 帝来山庄 which is located at Sungai Ara, Bayan Lepas, Penang is a Villa which is located deep into the hill side of Sungai Ara. So you will have to do some walking in order to reach Emperor Villa and inside of Emperor Villa they do serve some food. Many people call it as hiking to Emperor Villa but for me, this is more like a normal walking to Emperor Villa. Want real hiking ? then you may check out my hiking post <HERE>.

Emperor Villa is a instagramable place, probably that is why a lot of people come here for their morning walk and to have their breakfast at the same time to take some photos for the gram ! Getting to Emperor Villa is not hard.

Getting There :

1) First search for Sri Subramaniar Temple Sungai Ara on your GPS ! ( 5.323922, 100.264264 )

2) The entrance to Emperor Villa is a small road beside Sri Subramaniar Temple Sungai Ara

3) Use this small little road, walk all the way till the end.

4) At the very end of the road is where Emperor Villa is.

Along the way, you will come across the famous Fig Tree Hill Resort just minutes before you reach Emperor Villa.

The route heading towards Emperor Villa is some sort like a jungle trail where you can see a lot of big tress and tall grass. There are also some insect and crazy big spiders. There are some stray dogs along the way but don't be alarm as they may bark loudly but they won't hurt you. You can also see rivers and some small water falls. It is really a nice route to get back close to nature.

I do see that it is possible to drive a car directly straight up until Emperor Villa but it is recommended not to do so, as the road here is small and it is only able to fit one car at a time, meaning, if there is another car coming from the opposite direction, then it is impossible to drive through, plus there are a lot of pots hole along the road.

Total distanced covered walking to-and-fro from Emperor Villa is 6.90 km.

Emperor Villa is actually a villa which is converted into a cafe that serve breakfast and  lunch. They have considerably decent amount of food serve here. If you are here for breakfast then you may try their nasi lemak, Half Boiled Egg, Kaya Butter Toast, Chai Kuih or some small bites a la carte food. But is you are there for your lunch, you can try their Fried Hor Fun, Fried Mee Hoon, Fried Noodles or even their Kung Pao Rice, Sweet and Sour Rice, Kam Heong Rice and more. Other than food, they also have drinks like Milo, Kopi, Latte, Cappuccino, Chocolate and some can drinks.

Overall, the food here is average nothing bad to complain nothing spectacular to shout about but their serving portion is big. Service is good and food serving is fast too. Having a morning walk all the way here to Emperor Villa is nice, after a good morning exercise it is also nice to have some light food and a cup of drinks here at Emperor Villa.
