The holy month of Ramadan is back again where all our Muslim friends are going for a month long fasting. In conjunction with that, Olive Tree Hotel Penang is serving special buffet menu this Ramadan so that everyone can have a great time berbuka puasa at Olive Tree Hotel Penang. After a day long of fasting it is always good to have some Kurma to break fast as Kurma is best known for energy boosting and also rich in nutrients.



This year Olive Tree Hotel Ramadan buffet is themed as Ihya Ramadan which means embrace Ramadan with an open heart together with family, friends and colleagues. With that said, Olive Tree Hotel would like to welcome everyone with open heart to bring their friends and family together to attend the Ihya Ramadan Alaf Baru Buffet together while enjoying some of their Main Dish from the Mains Section of the buffet. To name a few, there are food like Perut Masak Lemak, Ikan Tiga Rasa, Pajeri Nenas, Ayam Percik, Kambing Masala, Sambal Udang Petai, Kacang Buncis Masak Pedal Ayam, Daging Rendang which goes really well with their Nasi Mandy and Bihun Goreng Malay Style.

Switching things up a little, other than the Main Section of the Buffet, Olive Tree Hotel also prepare individual section with different food that range from Japanese Food, Indonesian Gado-Gado, Ramen, Locals favorite the Ketupat and many more. With these different section of food, it gives guest more food choice to choose from.





Chicken / Beef Satay


At this section, guest can find the Indonesia Gado-Gado which is an Indonesia traditional salad dish which is made from mix of vegetables, bean sprouts, potatoes, cabbage, tofu, tempeh, boiled eggs and topped with peanut sauce. Since there is already peanut sauce at the station, guest can also dip it with Chicken or Beef Satay.

Tempura Prawn with Ramen Noodles



Moving on to the next station is the Tempura Prawn with Ramen Noodles. Guest can make their own Tempura Prawn with Ramen Noodles from the already cooked Ramen Noodles, Tempura Prawn and the Hot Soup at this station. Guest can choose to have as much noodle or Tempura Prawn as they like in their bowl of Ramen Noodles. Next is our own local favirote, the Ketupat Pulut, Serunding Ayam and Serunding Daging.




Japanese food lover can also get some Sushi and Salmon from the individual section. Fresh salmon is cut into small pieces and serve raw together with some sushi for everyone to try.





More local taste is added into the Ihya Ramadan Alaf Baru Buffet. There are also food like Papadom, Ulam Ulaman and Sambal Belacan to add more flavor to the Main Dish from the Mains Section. Guest can mix and match these Ulam Ulaman or add some Sambal Belacan into their food to make it more interesting.




While Adult are enjoying their food, Kids are not neglected too. Olive Tree Hotel Penang prepared a Kids Corner with some small bites food so that kids can enjoy their meal together with their parents and siblings too. There are some Potato Wedges, Pandan Chicken, Hawaiian Pizza and what interest kids the most is the Popcorn Maker Cart where kids can see how their favorite popcorn are made for them to enjoy throughout the entire buffet session. The highlight of the Ihya Ramadan Alaf Baru will have to be from the lively action corner where the Kambing Bakar with Nasi Mandy is a crowd puller and is something not to be missed with some condiment to go with the Kambing Bakar. Other on-the-spot freshly grilled dishes are Ikan and Udang Bakar, Tandoori Chicken or Lamb Wrap. So remember to try their Kambing Bakar when you are at the Ihya Ramadan Alaf Baru Buffet.

With many different types of Cakes, Tau Foo Fah, Agar Agar and Merry Ice Cream guest will definitely be spoilt for choice. Also not forgetting there is also Kuih Muih available for everyone.



















Guest can have freshly cut fruits to end the buffet dinner on a sweet note. Healthy fruits like Watermelon, Dragon Fruits, Pomalo is perfect for everyone. Have some Sour Plum Juice and Iced Mint Lime Juice to wash all the tasty food down the satisfying tummy.









Do also look out for some food add on through the entire Ramadan Buffet section, there will also be food like Kerabu Jantung Pisang, Kerabu Daun Selom, Sambal Kelapa, Cincaluk, Sambal Mempelam and also hot soups like Sup Ekor and Sup Ayam are offered on rotation.
