Tesla Debuts in Penang, Malaysia featuring their Next Generation of Electric Vehicle ! Which is the Model 3 Performance, Model Y and the Cybertruck.


Long-awaited by Tesla owners and residents in Penang, Tesla has officially launched in Penang, featuring the latest Model 3 Performance, Model Y and the highly anticipated Cybertruck. This follows the overwhelming response and support in Malaysia. Starting from 21 to 30 June 2024, residents of Penang and Malaysia’s northern region will finally have the opportunity to experience Model 3 and Model Y, as well as witness the revolutionary Tesla Cybertruck up close at the Ground Floor Centre Atrium at Gurney Plaza, George Town.


The Cybertruck is a revolutionary all-electric vehicle showcases the practice of sustainable development and promotes the development of low-carbon emissions and eco-friendly transportation. With its futuristic design, it combines the utility of a truck with the performance of a sports car, setting new standards in automotive engineering with maximum durability, versatility and exceptional on-road and off-road performance.






The public can see the Cybertruck from 22 to 30 June to have a closer look and freely take pictures with Tesla’s highly-talked-about first electric compact truck with cutting-edge and futuristic design.



Model Y, Tesla’s first mass market electric SUV with ultimate combination of technology, performance, safety and utility. It is the key milestone in the Tesla Master Plan to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. Model Y provides maximum versatility with 2100+ liters cargo space, which is able to carry up to 5 passengers and their belongings with a 0-100km acceleration in just 3.7 seconds and a range up to 533 km (WLTP) per charge.



This event marks a significant milestone for Tesla as the company sets its sights on captivating and serving northern states of Malaysia. Tesla has also indicated plans to open a dedicated after-sales service location in Penang soon. The public can now test drive Model 3 and Model Y in Penang, experiencing firsthand Tesla’s industry-leading electric vehicle technology and performance.



Upgraded Model 3, featuring updated exterior styling optimised for maximum aerodynamics, Model 3 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and offers a single-charge range of up to 629 km (WLTP). The Model 3 cabin is now quieter than ever, thanks to the inclusion of 360-degree acoustic glass. It also introduces new features such as ambient lighting, an immersive sound system designed by Tesla with up to 17 speakers, dual subwoofers and dual amplifiers, ventilated seats, an 8" second-row display, a redesigned centre console and new wheel options.




Tesla currently has 3 charging sites in Penang, including The Ship Campus, All Seasons Place and Sunway Carnival providing a total of 12 Destination Chargers (Wall Connectors) and 4 V3 Superchargers. Tesla has also confirmed the installation of the first V4 Supercharging station in Penang at Gurney Plaza. These charging stations will enhance the convenience and accessibility of owning a Tesla in Penang, with plans to expand the charging infrastructure further in the future.
