G Hotel proudly announces that Mr. Phuah Choon Meng, the esteemed Director of G Hotel, has been conferred the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN), which carries the title Dato’, by the Penang State Governor. This honour was bestowed alongside a list of other recipients of state honours and awards. The conferment ceremony took place in conjunction with the 75th birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang, Tuan Yang Terutama Tun Dato’ Seri Utama Ahmad Fuzi Bin Haji Abdul Razak.
At 91 years old, Dato Phuah was honoured for his outstanding contributions to both the hospitality industry and the community. Through his steadfast support and visionary leadership, G Hotel has garnered numerous accolades, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for both business and leisure travellers. His exceptional leadership, coupled with decades of dedication and service, has left an indelible mark on society and the industry at large.
Dato’ Phuah's unwavering commitment to social responsibility has set a high benchmark for philanthropy and community engagement. His charitable efforts encompass significant contributions to numerous social causes and community initiatives. As a board member for several schools in Penang, including Chung Ling High School, Penang Chinese Girls’ High School, and Li Tek Primary School, he has played a crucial role in supporting children through various welfare programs. Additionally, Dato’ Phuah serves as a Board Director at Lam Wah Ee Hospital and the Penang Home for the Infirm and Aged. His leadership extends to his role as President of The Rubber Trade Association of Penang and his membership in the Penang Teochew Association.
