At the Penang Marriott Hotel, The Malaysian Kitchen is showcased through a Thursday night buffet at Sago, offering dishes like Char Koay Teow, Beef Satay, and Sarawak Laksa. The campaign also includes a free masterclass on April 24, 2025, with Chef Lee Keen Suaan demonstrating Char Koay Teow preparation, cooking and interaction with guests. Launched on 24 April 2025, this weekly buffet takes place every Thursday evening, serving up nostalgia, artistry, and unmistakable local flair. These nine iconic dishes are also available throughout the week at just RM 29.00 nett each.

The Malaysian Kitchen” is a year-long culinary campaign by Marriott Bonvoy Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia, celebrating the country's diverse flavors. It features authentic Malaysian dishes prepared by chefs from Marriott hotels across Malaysia. Crafted in collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy’s most celebrated chefs, the buffet highlights nine signature Malaysian dishes, each one an icon in its own right, rooted in tradition and presented with a refined touch. From Char Koay Teow by Chef Lee Keen Suaan (Penang Marriott Hotel), Nasi Lemak Ayam Rendang by Chef Norazizi Taslim (The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur), Ayam Percik by Chef Anas Luqman (W Kuala Lumpur), Beef Satay from Chef Syafiq Ruzi (The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi), Nasi Ayam from Chef Cheah E Keong (Renaissance Kuala Lumpur), Laksa Sarawak by Chef Elossa Danette (Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral), Mee Kari by Chef Sazli Nazim (Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur), Assam Laksa by Chef Tyng Gio (Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown), and Chicken Briyani by Chef Linggeswaran Sathavisa (The Westin Kuala Lumpur).


But there’s more than just flavour on the menu. Every month, one of these nine culinary icons will make a special guest appearance at the buffet for a live cooking demonstration, offering guests an intimate glimpse into the stories, skills, and secrets behind their signature dish.
