ETS | KTMB | Train Trip To Kuala Lumpur

By : Chha

Traveling to Kuala Lumpur is so so much easier now with having the new ETS running now. Since it is so convenient, people are actually using it more often. There are few times where the tickets were sold out when i try to buy them so my advice is, if you want to buy the ETS tickets from KTMB, then do it earlier before they are sold out. Well i manage to get my self a tickets to Kuala Lumpur once for a one day trip all the way from Butterworth. I leave early in the morning and come back Butterworth late at night.

It only take 4 hours from Butterworth to reach Sentral Kuala Lumpur, no longer like last time where it takes whole night to travel from here to Kuala Lumpur.

ETS train is much better than the one we had last time, the seat is more comfortable with air conditioning. There is a place where they sell food. You can have your breakfast there if you are traveling in the morning but the food is really limited. I did not manage to get any food as it was quickly snatch up.

If you are like me travelling from Penang to Kuala Lumpur there are a few station that you can start you journey from.

Pulau Pinang
Bukit Mertajam
Butterworth
Tasek Gelugor

And for my advice, if you are going to Kuala Lumpur, then you should stop at Sentral Kuala Lumpur station instead of Kuala Lumpur station. The reason is because Sentral Kuala Lumpur station is the link for many other public transport like MRT, LRT, Komuter and also bus to KLIA. It is easier for you to transit to other place from here. While for the price of tickets :

ETS Platinum
Adult = RM 79.00
Child = RM 44.00

ETS Gold
Adult = RM 59.00
Child = RM 34.00

Where to buy ? Go to the KTMB link then click on E-Tickets or by using the link below.

You will need to sign up an account and then only you can purchase the tickets from the website.
