Fuku Eatery & Desserts @ Beach Street, Penang

By : Chha

During my recent trip to Japan, i learn that Fuku (福) actually mean Luck or Fortune in Japanese language. Well, i guess that is the reason why there are so many logo for the 'Prosperity Cat' (Maneki-Neko) in Fuku Eatery and Desserts, haha !

Fuku Eatery and Desserts is actually located inside Mano Plus which actually sell some home products that are hip and trendy like Stationery, Accessories, Books, Clothing and many more. Well, lets go back to our main topic, the food at Fuku, haha !

Firstly, i like the environment here, it has the modern Japanese setting .. and it really comfortable dining in here. By the time i arrive, Fuku is actually going for the last kitchen call so i have to make my order fast and finish eating before they close their store though, so it was kinda rush for me .. but i would love to go back second time to really sit down and enjoy their food and environment there.

Unagi Omurice RM 22.00
(Pumpkin and raisin fried rice wrapped under Japanese omelette and topped with grilled unagi, ebiko and nori flakes)

Omu Curry Rice with Tori Karaage RM 17.00

After visiting Japan, my taste and standard for Japanese food seems to be set higher, haha ! for the outlook of the food here in Fuku, there is no doubt that it looks good, the colour of the Matcha is so green and tempting, the egg of the Omurice is making me drool, haha ! The first plate that i try is Fuku's Unagi Omurice. I really love their Unagi covered with some sweet sauce, it is really tasty. The egg which is wrapping the fried rice inside Unagi Omurice is tasty too. Though the egg is not as soft and fluffy as what i have tried in Japan but i still like it. While for the Omu Curry Rice with Tori Karaage, i love and enjoy every bite of it, haha .. the Tori Karaage is crunchy and the curry is tasty. Unlike Malaysia curry, Japanese curry is not spicy which is really suitable for me, haha !

Kaiju RM 16.00
(Fuku's Uji Matcha Milk Tea with Milo mountain and tapioca pearls)

A very unique blend of Malaysian and Japanese favorite drinks, Milo and Matcha, haha ! Though i don't taste the Milo in the Kaiju after steering it up but it looks special and is nice for my instagram, haha ! I enjoy drinking this cup of Kaiju but i feel that the Matcha taste is not strong enough and the cup is small, give me a big big mug full of Kaiju, that would be great .. haha !

Overall, i feel that the food here is good, environment is comfortable and service is good. Food serving is fast too .. i am looking forward for my second visit .. !
