This place is said to be the Jiuzhaigou of Penang. Jiuzhaigou is actually a very scenic place in China but because Frog Hill looks like a small Jiuzhaigou, people around Penang are flogging to Frog Hill to see this so-called Jiuzhaigou of Penang. Frog Hill is actually a hill located at Lombong Kampung Guar Petai, which used to be a mining place.
Getting here is a bit tricky, if you follow google map, it might bring you to an unknown village, haha .. so i would suggest using Waze instead.
If possible, my advice would be, ride a bike if you wish to go there. There is no proper tar road leading to the hill, you will need to ride on uneven dusty road to reach this hill.
It is unless the suspension of your car is slightly pushing your car higher up from the ground then you can drive there but if not, then you might get a lot of scratches at the bottom of your car along the way on the uneven road to Frog Hill.
Go there on a hot sunny day because the road to Frog Hill will become very muddy and there are a lot of muddy potholes and your car might get stuck, so make sure it is a hot sunny day with no rain the day before. Also, be prepare to hike a little if you want to take photos like mine, you will need to hike up Frog Hill. The hike is not hard, i would rate it 3/10 ?
Getting There :
- Drive to Tasik Gelugor following the GPS Coordinate provided below.
- Go to Jalan Arumugam Pillai and look for the entrance as below.
- Enter this small and uneven road.
- Continue drive slowly for about 2 km and you will reach Frog Hill.
