Jaloux @ King Street, Georgetown, Penang

It was a full house when i walk in to Jaloux looking for seating place and the waitress there told me that i might need to wait for around 45 minutes before i am able to get the next table. My jaw drop, haha ! so long ? Well, stupid as it sound, i waited anyway, haha .. ! Else, how can i write you this post ? haha .. !

Jaloux is a small place with not many seating place but it is a comfortable place to dine in. The place is dimly lit making it kinda romantic with candle light on the table. Service is good too, there is this one waitress there that keep smiling when serving, which is something nice to see !

Pasta Tagliolini Pesto Genoa with Grill Smoke Duck RM 38.00

Looking at the menu really makes me confuse, all the name on the menu are like scientific name to me, haha ! So i end up ordering from 'Today's Special' menu and i do know what Grill Smoke Duck is. This plate of Pasta with Grill Smoke Duck is tasty but if you are not a vegetables fans then i don't recommend you to order this because the taste of vegetables is really strong and that is what makes the pasta green in colour. The Grill Smoke Duck is really awesome, not too salty and is well cooked.

Pasta Tajarin Carbonara Pork Bacon, Parmesan and Free Range Egg Yolk RM 33.00

When talk about Pasta Carbonara, the creamy look and taste of Carbonara will instantly come to mind but at Jaloux this is not the case. When the Pasta Carbonara is being serve, it looks like an ordinary Pasta but when I try eating it, it taste good, though it is not the creamy type Carbonara but the taste is nice, the Pasta is not over cooked and the serving portion is big too, I like this plate of Pasta Carbonara and would recommend it for anyone who come here to try.

Pumpkin Cream with Bacon and Pini Pini Oil RM 19.00

Well by looking at its name, I have no idea with this bowl of Pumpkin Soup is made of. The only word I can recognize is the word ‘Pumpkin’ so I order it, haha ! The quantity of the Pumpkin Soup is not much, the taste ok but I like the Bacon that is put inside it. Usually we don’t get Bacon inside a Pumpkin Soup but they have it in Jaloux. I feel this plate of soup is a good kick start for my dinner that night.
