Firstly let me tell you what Glamping means, according to Google, Glamping is a form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping. To me, Glamping is like a 5 stars camping, haha ! It is more comfortable than the traditional camping but yet allow you to be close to nature like how any other camping would.
Ok now, let me tell you what is Caravan Serai. According to Wikipedia, Caravan Serai was a roadside inn where travelers could rest and recover from the day's journey. Caravan Serai supported the flow of commerce, information and people across the network of trade routes covering Asia, North Africa and Southeast Europe, especially along the Silk Road.
Now imagine a Caravan Serai in Glamping style at Bentong, Pahang, isn't that something special ? Caravan Serai Bentong is a Glamping area which is located in Pahang. This place does not have TV for you to watch, no WiFi and very limited phone coverage. So if you would like to come here and hide away from those hectic city life, Caravan Serai Exclusive Private Villas and Eco Resort is the place .. !
Caravan Serai Exclusive Private Villas and Eco Resort is 15 minutes drive away from Bentong town and is 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. All the camp at Caravan Serai has their own bed and toilet.
The camp here at Caravan Serai is not a perfect one, there are some holes here and there even in the bath room but where is the fun and challenge if everything is perfect right ? haha ! There are some bugs and mosquito around here at night but that is the fun and thrill of camping. So if you are a nature lover and a challenge seeker like me, then all these small issue will not be a problem for you to handle, haha !
Caravan Serai is divided into two part, one is the Camp Site which need special access to in order to enter, this is good for security purpose.
The other section is the facility area where it is also the common area of Caravan Serai. There is a fully functional restaurant which can sit around 130 people comfortably, Karaoke, Ping Pong table and few more facilities. Though there are not many fancy items here for entertainment but all those existing facility is good enough, at least it does not deflect from the main purpose of enjoying the nature and leaving all technology and gadget aside.
There are also several activities that you can do at Caravan Serai but one of my favorite is their Nature Walk. If you like some hiking and jungle tracking, then the Nature Walk is perfect for you.
During the Nature Walk, they will request you to put on their signature Yellow Boots, haha ! Not to forget the hand glove too as you will need it for hiking. The hiking during their Nature Walk is not hard but there is place where you might need to pull on rope.
It is also highly recommended that you wear their Yellow Boots too because you will need to walk in rivers on the way back to your camp site ad there is no dry land for you to step on and the river is really deep.
If you walk slowly, taking photos and enjoying the Nature Walk, it will probably take around 1 hour for you to complete the route and by then, it is time for breakfast. Breakfast is provided by Caravan Serai too. Simple breakfast which is good enough to keep me full.
Depending on how many days you choose to stay here, after breakfast it is free and easy time. The experience staying here was really awesome, i like the feel of being close to nature and the experience of walking inside strong flowing river are really exciting !
