Many Malaysian know about Songkran and many celebrated it, but how many people actually know what Songkran is ? haha ! Songkran is the Thai New Year's national holiday. Songkran is held on 13 April every year, but the holiday period extends from 14 to 15 April. When we talk about Songkran, we always relate it to ‘playing with water’. Well, this year, in Penang, Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort is taking it a notch higher by organizing a Songkran Festival in their hotel by the beautiful beach of Tanjung Bungah, Penang.
Being held on 12 April until 14 April 2019 from 5.00 pm to 1.00 am, the Songkran Festival at Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort offers music from live band, Thai Kick Boxing performance and whole lot of water fun for everyone who join the Songkran Festival.
Other than performance and music, Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort also provide some local and Thai food for everyone to try on. Upon registration, participants were provided with coupons for them to purchase food during the Songkran Festival.
The event area inside of Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort is divided into two section, namely the dry section and the outdoor open section where the actions are. Participants can take a rest to enjoy their food or have a talk with family and friends at the dry section away from all the pouring water.
As the Songkran Festival went on far into the night, everyone there is basically soaking wet from all the fun of splashing water at each other, shooting using their water gun and also from the pouring man made rain using the fireman water hose.
The Songkran Festival at Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort was a weekend of soaking wet fun, food, music and performance. It is awesome that Rainbow Paradise Beach Resort is taking the effort to bring in Songkran Festival to Penang for everyone to experience it, looking forward to this event again next year !
