Dong Guan Kopitam | 東館茶室 (檳城) @ Jalan Irrawaddi, Georgetown, Penang

By : Chha

Dong Guan Kopitiam is a newly open Kopitiam which is located at Jalan Irrawaddi, Georgetown, Penang. At first glance it looks like a Hong Kong Kopitiam serving Hong Kong Cuisine to me, but i was wrong. Dong Guan Kopitiam serve variety of local Penang food.

Environment here is nice and there are plenty of seating place available as it is a double-storey Kopitiam. Service is ok, during my visit, there are a lot of people in Dong Guan Kopitam so basically you can see that their staff are rushing here and there to serve every customers. From their menu, there are choices of Hor Fun, Noodles, Rice, Bee Hun, Bread and more for you to try on.

Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken RM 10.90

I order their Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken, the sambal is good, not too spicy and the Ikan Bilis (Anchovy) is crunchy. Fried Chicken is crunchy on the outside but a bit hard on the inside. It is a decent plate of Nasi Lemak. In terms of serving size, it is big.

Tom Yam Dry Noodle RM 5.90

Tom Yam Dry Noodle is something special that i see here from their menu apart from their Curry Chicken Chee Cheong Fun which sold out during my visit there. So i decided to go for their Tom Yam Dry Noodle. Squeezing the Lime onto the noodles is giving the noodles some sour taste making it more flavorful plus with the slightly spicy taste of Tom Yam. There are some vegetables and some small prawns in this plate of noodles.

DG Cham RM 2.80

Instead of overloading myself with coffee, i opt for their DG Cham which is a mixture of Coffee and Tea making the Coffee not that strong.
