D'Viet House @ Auto City, Bukit Mertajam, Penang

By : Chha

This particular place used to be occupied by Brew Cafe but is now being replace by D'Viet House, a Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant which serve everything Vietnamese food. Located strategically inside Shop-In d'Park of Auto City, Penang, D'Viet House gets very busy during the night when everyone around this area is out looking for dinner and during my visit, this place is full !

Chicken Noodles (Pho Ga) RM 16.90

Being a Pho lover myself, ordering Pho Ga when dining in a Vietnamese Restaurant is a must for me. Pho Ga is actually Chicken Noodles and i have a very high expectation when having my Pho Ga. The Chicken Noodles here in D'Viet House may not be as authentic as what i find in the street of Vietnam during my travel there to Danang, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh but this is the closet taste i known available here in D'Viet House.

This bowl of Chicken Noodles is made from flat rice boodles chicken broth soup filled with shredded chicken, fried chicken drumstick, boiled egg and not less of bean sprouts, lime wedges and essential greens. The greens that are put into making the soup has a very strong fragrant taste of which i like. The Chicken Drumstick meat is soft and the service size is crazy huge, which is kind of awesome, as i can get my overload dose of Pho Ga, haha !

Deep Fried Spring Rolls (Nem Ran) RM 10.90

Vietnamese Spring Rolls to Malaysian is like a must have dish when dining in Vietnamese Restaurant therefore i ordered one to try out when dine in at D'Viet House. It is basically deep fried rolls that are filled with minced pork meat, veggies and served with Vietnamese style tamarind dipping sauce. The dipping sauce is a bit spicy, sweet and sour, it goes really well with the spring rolls. The filling in the spring rolls is packed and the outer layer is crunchy due to the deep fried. This is a taste plate of Deep Fried Spring Rolls.

Fried Chicken Rice (Com ga Chien Gion) RM 16.90

Fried rice here is just average for my opinion but i like the salad at the side. There is crispy fried whole chicken leg served with annato seed oil rice, fried egg and mixed salad. Serving portion of the food here is very big, to me, i feel it is worth the money paid.
