The one thing that many people always wish for during a travel is to have my own transport so that they can drive anywhere and everywhere they like at any time. Finding a car to rent is always a hassle especially when you are unsure of which company to choose and where is the location of the company to pick up your car. What if all this can be made easy by only few clicks on an handphone apps ?

Trevo is a Malaysian trusted peer to peer car sharing platform where Guests can rent any car that fits their needs and wants for the trips they are going to, from the nearest Hosts in the Trevo community. Trevo provide a simple platform for both Guests and Hosts to communicate where Guests can find and rent the car they want while Hosts is able to reach a larger range of user through Trevo.

As a Guest myself, I rented a car from Trevo so that I may join Trevo recently held Trevo Hunt which is a treasure hunt around Penang Island. Themed as Rediscovering Penang it gives all Trevo Hunt participants to once again rediscover Penang through its culture and iconic landmark.
Renting a car from Trevo is easy. What i need to do is just download the Trevo Apps from either Apple Apps Store or from Google Play then register for an account. During registration, there are some documents that need to be verified by Trevo before an account is active. This verification may take up to 24 hours to process so download the apps now for your future use. Remember to use this referral code KO97L3 when you register for a Trevo account or scan the QR code below to sign up.
Once your account has been verified, you are set to book your first drive through Trevo ! The booking process is easy too.
- Search for the place that you wish to visit and a list of available cars will be shown.
- Select the car that you want
- Select date and time
- Make payment and you are done !
You can also choose to have the car deliver to you with and extra charge. This can be communicated to the Host through the Trevo Apps.
Once you pick up the car that you order from the Host, a Pre-inspection should be done and update to the Trevo Apps before you start your drive. What is required for the Pre-inspection are :
- Minimum four photos of the car.
- The current mileage of the car.
- Any comment from user (if applicable) on the condition of the car, like scratches or damage.
This is important as a protection to the Host and also Guest to avoid any unwanted misunderstanding on the condition of the car. It is also important to note that, some Host may request that Guest to fill up the petrol before returning the car to avoid any additional charges.
This Pre-inspection must be update into the Trevo Apps and once it is done, you are off to enjoy your drive and holiday ! Always remember, to drive safe !
Joining the Trevo Hunt was fun, the theme Rediscovering Penang allows me to drive around Penang using the car that I booked from the Trevo Apps to find clues and answering question. Visiting few interesting places along the way and doing this makes me appreciate the beauty of Penang once more !
After a few hours of amazing drive around Penang, it is time to return the car to the Host. Returning the car is also easy. You will just have to set a return date, time and location with the Host. Before returning the keys to the Host, you will need to do a Post Inspection through the Trevo Apps by performing the same task as the Pre-inspection. The Post Inspection is subject to approval by the Host to make sure that the condition of the car is as what being reported in the Post Inspection.
Booking cars through Trevo Apps is really easy and convenient. The same goes for Hosting a car in Trevo Apps too. This makes the Guest's trip a memorable and hassle free one while the Host's worry free.
