ISKCON Temple @ Bangalore, India

By : Chha

ISKCON Temple or also known as the Sri Radha Krishna-chandra Temple is one of the largest Krishna-Hindu temples in the world. It is situated in Bangalore in the Indian state of Karnataka.

ISKCON is a nice temple with very unique looking design but the sad thing is, photography is not allowed inside ISKCON temple. There are staff inside the temple that walks around making sure no one take photo inside the ISKCON temple.

Visiting ISKCON Temple is nice, there is no need to purchase any tickets which means admission is FREE but there will be a 40 Rupee parking fee if you go there by car. If you go to ISKCON Temple by using car then you will need to leave your shoes inside your car at the parking area before walking over to ISKCON Temple as there is no shoes allowed inside the temple. Please also be reminded to dress appropriately when you are visiting ISKCON Temple.

Once you are at the entrance, you will need to walk through some series of stairs before you can reach the main hall area. It is not hard to walk up the stairs and the walking distance is not long too.

Since ISKCON Temple is famous in Bangalore, you can expect some crowd there. Well, during my visit, there are a lot of people lining up walking slowly into ISKCON Temple main hall area. The main hall area is the main attraction area.

ISKCON Bangalore has six shrines which are Main deities is of Radha-Krishna, Krishna Balrama, Nitai Gauranga (Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda), Srinivasa Govinda (also known as Venkateswara), Prahlada Narasimha and Srila Prabhupada.

Right after the main hall area, you will see places where they sell books regarding this temple in many different Indian Dialect. After the book section is the food section, the food section is full with many different types of food. You can purchase any food you like and i tried the Badam Milk, it is tasty ! i am in love with the Badam Milk that i had during my visit.

Once you exit the ISKCON Temple, there is an area where they serve FREE lunch. I was lucky enough to have the chance to try out their FREE lunch and I like it a lot. They will first give you a paper made from leaf and they you will need to queue up to get the FREE food.

Base on what i understand, you can take the FREE food as much as your tummy can take but i didn't do that. I just take one small bowl for the taste and for trying something new. I would prefer to give the FREE lunch to others who really need it.

It is really nice visiting ISKCON Temple especially when it is my first time there. I spend around 1 hour here at ISKCON Temple and i feel that 1 hour is good enough.
