Penang Hill (Bukit Bendera, 升旗山) is one of those famous tourist spot here in Penang. There are a few ways that you can go up to Penang Hill. One is by using the most famous transport known for Penang Hill, which is the Train. The ticket price for the train is a below.




The second way to get up to Penang Hill is by driving up. It is not recommended for tourist to drive up there as the road is a 5km steep up hill road. If you would still love to drive up there, you will have to go to Penang Botanical Garden as the up hill road to Penang Hill starts there. Third method on how to get to Penang Hill is by hiking ! There are a few route that you can use to hike up Penang Hill but do get someone who is familiar with hiking up Penang Hill to lead the hike and also take all precaution as you normally would during a hiking.

There are few things you can do when you are up in Penang Hill, there is a Love Lock area where couples lock their love at a designated area on Penang Hill.


If you are there early in the morning you can see sunrise. From the top of Penang Hill, you can actually see part of Penang and the view is nice.


There is a David Brown's Restaurant & Tea Terrace up on Penang Hill which serve Lunch, Afternoon Tea and Dinner. There is other hawker stall that is selling food on Penang Hill.

The hawker stalls area are divided into two level, the upper level is selling food while the lower level is selling drinks, in doing that, it allows more stalls to be open there on Penang Hill.

Other than those mention, the Owl Museum is also situated on top of Penang Hill. The air quality on top of Penang Hill is much better compare to town, the environment on Penang Hill is nice and clean with flowers everywhere. It is nice to take a short trip up to Penang Hill with family and friends for a relaxing walk or dinner to escape the everyday hassle of city life.
