Asiatique has successfully combined two of the most popular shopping experiences in the city into one place which is the night bazaar and a mall. Ten minutes downriver from Saphan Taksin BTS station this once bustling international trade port has been transformed with many boutiques and restaurants housed under a huge replica warehouse complex (Source).
Asiatique The Riverfront is a nice place for shopping and food for my opinion. You will have good fun browsing the boutiques, picking up gifts or something for yourself as souvenirs back home.
Other than small gift there are also cloths to buy. I can say that Asiatique The Riverfront is a one stop center for shopping and the price is reasonable too. There are a lot of unique gift that you can find here. I spend few hours walking around looking at cloths and souvenirs to bring home. Before i actually become hungry and start looking for dinner.
There are a lot of food stalls and restaurant available here at Asiatique The Riverfront, you are guaranteed to find something you would like to eat. Well, i found mine at Kamlangsib Chicken Rice.

I ordered a bowl of Tom Yam Soup and a plate of vegetables to be eaten with rice at Kamlangsib Chicken Rice. It is just my first night here at Bangkok and i am already craving for rice, haha ! Typical Malaysian who can't go on a day without rice ! Total spending for this dinner at Kamlangsib Chicken Rice is 432.00 baht. I like the coconut drinks a lot especially in a hot weather like this in Thailand, drinking the coconut water is really soothing.
Getting There :
- Take BTS from any station to Saphan Taksin Station, Exit 2
- Walk straight and you will reach Central Pier/Sathorn (Taksin) Yan Nawa.
- Turn left and walk straight until you see the Free Shuttle Boat by Asiatique The Riverfront.
- Take the Free Shuttle Boat.
- The Free Shuttle Boat will take you directly to Asiatique The Riverfront Pier.
The Shuttle Boat is big and is able to cater to many people but do take note that the boat operate from 4.00 pm until 11.30 pm only. Taxis are not recommended as the traffic can be terrible in this area.
