This is what they call as the highest cafe in Penang ! Well, Penang Hill really have the highest of everything in Penang Island, haha ! while David Brown's Restaurant & Tea Terraces is the highest landed Restaurant in Penang, it is also located at Penang Hill .. haha !
Kopi Hutan Cafe is located on Penang Hill, obviously and in Monkey Cup Garden which is also on top of Penang Hill.
Getting There :
- Get up to Penang Hill either by Hiking or take the Funicular Train up.
- Once reach, walk to the area near Owl Museum.
- Take the free shuttle to Monkey Cup Garden or you can choose to walk there but it is rather far, around 2 kilometers away.
- Kopi Hutan is in the Monkey Cup Garden
Note : Free shuttle is only for Kopi Hutan customer.
Well, the name says it all, Kopi Hutan where Hutan mean Forest in Bahasa Malaysia, so the Cafe is located inside a forest, haha ! The place is small, only a few seating outdoor and some under shades. If it rains you will only have very limited place to take shelters, haha !

We tried their famous Kopi Hutan and i find it rather nice .. the coffee is soothing, not too thick and very nice to drink .. it is serve hot ! The same goes to the hot chocolate too .. but if i were to compare between the Kopi Hutan and Hot Chocolate, i prefer the Kopi Hutan more .. Kopi Hutan Cafe also serve some cakes which i feel is tasty. There is not much things to eat here, just come cakes and drinks. There are Tea and Soda Drinks too .. ! The main reason why i am here is to try their nice Kopi Hutan while enjoying the calm nature surrounding it .. ! It is a Cafe in Forest .. !
