Hotel Penaga is a Luxury Boutique Hotel which is located some where alone Jalan Hutton in Georgetown, Penang. This hotel is originally a three row, double storey building with terraced houses and shophouses. These houses and shophouses are now converted into the very unique Boutique Hotel Penaga. Still conserving all the unique and classic design of the old houses, Hotel Penaga will gives you a very local and homey feel of Penang.

The environment inside Hotel Penaga is comfortable and nice but that is not the only thing Hotel Penaga is able to offer. Their also offer food for their customer, may it be for walk in customers or tourist who stay in their Hotel Room. If you are here during Lunch time, you can try out their Lunch set at their Cinnamon Restaurant. The Lunch Set here is inclusive of a bowl of Soup Of The Day which is usually either Pumpkin Soup or Mushroom Soup + a Dessert + a cup of Drinks + Main Course and all these are only for RM 20.00 nett. 

Home Made Oriental Chicken Chop

There are four types of Main Course to choose from Hotel Penaga Lunch Set. The first will be their very big and very huge looking Home Made Oriental Chicken Chop. I was actually surprise when i see the size of the Chicken Chop, the Chicken Chop itself cover half of the plate, haha ! The Home Made Chicken Chop is actually a deep fried chicken chop with corn flakes. There are some french fries and mix salad with dressing at the side.

I like this plate of Chicken Chop, it does not only look big but the Chicken meat is a lot too. The outer layer is thin and crunchy while the meat inside is soft.

Peranakan Curry Fish with Curry Nyonya

The Peranakan Curry Fish is cooked with chilli paste, Lemongrass and coconut milk served with steamed white rice and Papadom Cracker. The Curry Nyonya that comes with it is not very spicy and it gives very strong flavor when eat together with the White Rice and Fish. With Papadom Cracker, Rice and Curry, this combination works well together to bring out our local Penang taste and flavor.

Stir Fried Beef with Ginger Oyster Sauce

Hotel Penaga bring different types of food to their Lunch Set, with Chicken and Fish already in their Lunch Set Menu, now the third choice is a Beef, you will definitely find something suitable to eat here at Hotel Penaga. This plate is a Stir Fried beef marinated with Oyster Sauce, fresh ginger and Spring Onion served with steamed white rice and Papadom cracker.

Claypot Yee Mee Noodle

If you don't fancy having rice for your lunch, Hotel Penaga got you covered with their Claypot Yee Mee Noodle. Braised fried noodle with seafood, chicken slice and chinese mushroom in superior stock.

The Prawn and fish balls that is put into this bowl of Claypot Yee Mee is really big, Hotel Penaga is not stingy with the ingredient that they put in. I like this bowl of Claypot Yee Mee, the gravy that comes with it is not too thick or too watery, it taste just good and not too salty. The Yee Mee itself is well cooked, not too soft or not too hard, just nice !

I have always been a fan of Pumpkin Soup and to have Pumpkin Soup being included in this Lunch Set, i feel it is kinda awesome, haha ! I like the Pumpkin Soup, it is not too creamy and yet able to feature its strong taste of Pumpkin. The quantity of the Soup is just nice, just enough to open my appetite to proceed to the Main Course without making me feel too full, while the Ice Lemon Tea is not too sweat and it is refreshing.
