The annual Alor Setar Half Marathon which is held in front of Aman Central Shopping mall is back ! It is just in time before the Malaysia Government announce a Movement Control Order to fight Covid-19 virus. As someone who run, i decided to go for it !
In terms of participants, there are not many runners for each category probably because Alor Setar Half Marathon is not as well known as those big running event else where but it is considered as a successful event as the number of participant who turn up is promising. There are a lot of familiar faces, those people that i usually see during any run across the entire nation.
The event is well organize, kudos to the organizer ! There are adequate water station along the route and the traffic management is done well too. Though there are times where we need to run along side the traffic but that is only on a certain road which i kinda like because the organizer actually limit the frequency of intersection between runners and traffic. It is good for the safety of runners.
Those who participate in the 21km Half Marathon category are entitle for a E-Certificate, T-Shirt, Finisher T-Shirt and a Finisher Medal. The T-Shirt and Medal design is nice !
At the finish line there are some complementary drinks and food provided too, this is something that has been long forgotten by many marathon event and i am really happy to know that Alor Setar Marathon take the effort to make these available.
In terms of the route, it is mostly a straight route with not much elevation. The route is actually not very hard to run on.

Over all, the Alor Setar Half Marathon is a nice event to join, will definitely go back there for more run !
