Rejoice ! BaWangChaJi | 霸王茶姬 is now finally open in Icon City, Bukit Mertajam, Penang ! It was on the very last day of 2020, BaWangChaJi open its door to their first batch of customers and also held their Grand Opening at the same time.
BaWangChaJi which is originated from Yunnan Province is one of the earliest regional teahouse chains that positions itself as the purveyor of Original Tea Leaf of the Chinese Culture. From Yunnan to China Nationwide, China Nationwide extending throughout the world, the brand has expanded rapidly with over 300 outlets across Asia and now that BaWangChaJi has open their second outlet in Icon City, Penang where the first is at Georgetown, Penang, Penangites at Bukit Mertajam area don't have to travel all the way to Georgetown to have their favorite BaWangChaJi drinks.
BaWangChaJi welcome the new year 2021 together with our national hero Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei. The two days Grand Opening of BaWangChaJi’s new outlet at Icon City, Bukit Mertajam on 31st December 2020 and 1st January 2021 was very well received from fans of all ages. BaWangChaJi has officially launched in Bukit Mertajam to serve Penangites authentic and healthy tea beverages. BaWangChaJi also had an amazing New Year celebration together with Datuk Wira Lee Chong Wei as both the opening ceremony and lucky draw session was officiated by him.
Fans were given an opportunity to win limited edition racquets and Yonex t-shirts autographed by the nation’s shuttler. The outlet was also filled with joyful tea lovers while satisfying their cravings for premium and fresh tea. It is a great place to have gatherings with family members and friends as the double-storey outlet has a comfy and cozy design. The classy interior design of BaWangChaJi is comfortable for a relaxing time spend with family and friends over a cup of drinks.
BaWangChaJi offers 4 different categories of tea drinks, which are Cheese Macchiato, Fresh Milk Tea, Cold Brew Tea and Fresh Fruit Tea. They pride themselves with strict material selection standards where everything is freshly made to ensure the quality of each drink that they serve. BaWangChaJi strive to bring a modern twist to the heritage of Chinese Tea, cultivating a new and post-modern tea culture in Malaysia where authentic and healthy drinks are cherished by people of all ages.
During my visit to BaWangChaJi i manage to tried some of their drinks there while enjoying the nice comfortable environment. The Yunnan Pu Er Milk Tea and Royale Fruit Oolong Tea are my personal favorite. The name Yunnan Pu Er Milk Tea itself says it, it is a mixture of Pu Er tea from Yunnan and Milk, the combination of the Tea and Milk taste good. The taste of the milk is not too much and still able to preserve the taste of the Pu Er tea. It is creative to see how the Pu Er tea is able to mix well with the milk. While the Royale Fruit Oolong Tea is a combination of many different fruits in a cup. There are Orange, Lime and Watermelon inside it. The taste of the Lime and Orange is very appetizing and the Watermelon gives some sweet taste to it. The sweetness level is just right, not too much !

Tie Guan Yin Macchiato
Tie Guan Yin Macchiato is also something to look out for at BaWangChaJi. It is a cup of Tie Guan Yin Premium Tea with Fresh New Zealand Cheese, the thick Cheese at the top layer taste a little bit salty but tasty, it gives a little taste twist to the tea compare to the traditional Tie Guan Yin tea. While the Tea Cube Da Hong Pao is a thirst quenching drinks that is suitable in a hot sunny Penang weather.
