Another Hong Kong style restaurant to add to the list of food in Penang, but this time let me take you all over to the other side of Penang, the Seberang Prai area of course, haha !
Located at Pusat Perniagaan Setia Sentral, Bukit Mertajam, Penang which can be easily spotted from the main North-South Expressway due to its big green building with a big Heineken sign. If you are going over from Penang Island, then Che Kee Restaurant is on your left side.
Looking a lot like a disco club from the outside, of which i thought it was at first, to my surprise, Che Kee Restaurant turns out to be a restaurant serving Hong Kong style food.
Shai Yong (Soup) RM 6.90
During my visit there are some food which already sold out, probably because that is their signature food and drinks, plus the place was full during my visit so i have to sit at outside of the shop with no air condition, but its ok for me. I order their Shai Yong Soup noodle which look something like our local Wantan Mee. It it serve with Noodles in Soup and few pieces of dumpling. This bowl of soup is tasty the dumpling is full with filling.
Mi Hoon with Egg and Lard RM 5.90
The other food that i order is their Mi Hoon with Egg and Lard. A simple plate of fried Mi Hoon and some egg on top. The serving is small but is tasty, there is a lot of Lard in it making it smell really nice but a bit oily.
Croissant Kaya RM 5.50
My favorite is their Croissant which is serve with Kaya. The Croissant itself is tasty and buttery but when dip into their Sweet tasty Kaya it makes the entire Croissant taste even better. I like it !
Portuguese Egg Tart RM 3.20
Portuguese Egg Tart at Che Kee Restaurant is also something to try. The outer layer of the tart is crunchy while the Tart inside is soft with slight sweet burn taste to it.
