For me, i find it kinda strange to have restaurant which is located in between rows of houses, this is what makes Yao Ya Gan Dim Sum restaurant kinda hidden from passerby.
Yao Ya Gan Dim Sum have plenty of seating place but it was full at the time of my visit. Seems like despite the current covid omicron condition, people don't seems to care anymore, so dining at Penang is kinda pack now.
The names says it all, Yao Ya Gan Dim Sum is a Dim Sum restaurant that serve variety of Dim Sum which cover most of anything that any local Penang Dim Sum restaurant will have. There are fish ball, Siu mai (open pork or prawn dumplings), Har gau (steamed prawn dumplings), Cheong fan (rolled rice noodles) and more.
The size of the Dim Sum here is average size, not too small and big enough for one mouth full. The Dim Sum here is tasty too. You can try as many different Dim Sum as you like and every little plate of Dim Sum is priced differently. Other than Dim Sum, they also serve some noodles for noodles loves.
My personal favorite here is their fried Tua Pan Koay Teow but i heard many people recommend their Curry Noodles. The Curry Noodles is spicy and you can mix with Bihun and Noodles. The serving size is not big. If you are not a fan of pork blood curd, remember to inform them not to put it in as it will always be serve with pork blood curd. Overall dining in here is nice but the service is a little slow.
