Luodong ( 羅東 ) is said to be one of Sungai Petani most famous cake shop which has grown from just a small cake shop into a full grown restaurant in a big house with plenty of seating place. Even the menu has grown over the years, from only selling their best cakes into serving other food and drinks now.

Luodong started off as a small shop which is famous for their cakes. Everyday people will line up in a long queue just to taste a slice of their tasty cake. Now Luodong had grown and is located at along Jalan Semangat Indah in Sungai Petani.

In terms of environment, Luodong has improved a lot compare to their old small shop. This new big house give Luodong patron more space to move around and plenty of seating place. Here you can still find verity of cakes by Luodong and most of it got sold out an hour from the time it is serve at their counter. The good thing is, they will regularly top up their cakes in a day with different flavor for everyone to try.

 There are many different types of cakes available here at Luodong. If you are a cake lover then Luodong will be heaven for you. As mention earlier in this post, Luodong has now expend their menu to cover more food than just cakes. There are now food like Rice Noodle Soup, Mei Cai Kou Rou Rice, Curry Pork Ribs, Dry Curry Bihun Mee and many more.

My personal favorite food here is their Dry Curry Bihun Mee. Serving size is not too big and the curry is tasty even though it is made into dry curry. The mixture of Bihun and Noodles with curry is just my favorite food to eat here.

Having a cup of coffee with a nice slice of cake here at Luodong is really nice. Even though Luodong is now located at a big area but this place is still always full with people, often times, getting a seating place is hard. Overall, food here is tasty, while for service, you have to line up at their counter to order food. No one actually care if you get a seat or not. I have to carry the tables and chair myself and put it at the place i want but end up being told not to put it there but the waiter did not help to move it away for me, instead i have to move it again myself.
