Sarkies Lunch Buffet @ Eastern & Oriental Hotel, Lebuh Farquhar, Georgetown, Penang

When ever i hear people talk about staying or eating at Eastern & Oriental Hotel, the reaction that i also see the other person give is 'WOW'. This makes me feel like, Eastern & Oriental Hotel is the most wanted to go place by many people may it be for a stay, dinner function or buffet. Eastern & Oriental Hotel is famously known simply as E&O by many Penangites. It classic looking building is simply amazing, imagine staying in one of their expensive room, that would be even more amazing !

The lunch buffet where held at Sarkies inside E&O. I went E&O for buffet lunch during a weekday and the place was fully booked with a lot of people around enjoying the food. The environment here at Sarkies is nice and the whole place is brightly lit with sunlight as there are windows all around this place. 

The amount of food available here is just average. There are few types of meat, like chicken, beef and fish from their main buffet counter. There are also some prawns and some vegetables. There are probably around 6 to 7 types of different dish to choose from their main counter which include rice for those rice lover to try on.

Apart from the mains section, there are other section where the food is prepared on the spot by E&O chef and later serve it on the buffet table. Food like Grilled Saba Fish, Grilled Lamb, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Beef, Grilled Salmon and more can be found here. I personally prefer the food prepared here at this station as the food serve is still piping hot.

To make things even more interesting, E&O also have their very own seafood and japanese food section where they serve Prawn, Mussels, Raw Salmon and few different types of Sushi.

It is interesting to see that E&O take the effort to prepare some vegetarian food but there is only two types of vegetarian dish here. It would be great is there is more vegetarian food for vegetarian lover to try here during the buffet at E&O.

My personal favorite food here is their Fried Koey Teow from their action station where you can see the Chef in action cooking the Fried Koey Teow per order in front of you. The Fried Koey Teow is tasty with juicy prawn. The heat from the wok is hot enough to make the Fried Koey Teow nice to eat.

As usual, a buffet will not be complete without the sweet tasty dessert. Here at E&O they have variety of cakes to choose from and also some ice cream for those with sweet tooth to get their craving fixed.

Wash all the food into the satisfying tummy with some fruits and drinks. This is the first time i actually see hotel buffet serving Rambutan, which is interesting to see.

Dining here is really nice, the environment is good and the food is tasty too. If you walk out from Sarkies, you can actually see the beautiful sea view just behind E&O hotel.
