East Restaurant | Pan Asian Rooftop @ The Oterra Hotel, Bangalore, India

By : Chha

East Restaurant is one of the restaurant located inside of The Oterra Hotel, it is a Pan Asian Rooftop style restaurant which is located at the rooftop of The Oterra Hotel. Honestly, looking for this restaurant is not easy as it is kinda hidden at the rooftop. I went walking around the hotel looking for it but can only find it with the help of the hotel staff.

The environment here is really nice, its open space is nice as you can feel the night wind blowing and it does not makes you feel confined in. There are also some open air seating here.

During my visit, the staff there told me that they are serving Mongolian Style buffet, that is their special promotion for that particular night. I went around looking at the food they serve and it does look interesting where you can select the food you want and the ingredient that you like then have the Chef prepare it for you directly on the spot.

There are a lot of ingredients to choose from the buffet table but since i am not in the mood to have buffet, i end up ordering ala cart food instead. Looking at their menu East Restaurant serve mostly Asian food, there are food like Chinese Fried Rice, Thai Noodles, Tomyam, Curry Ayam Malaysia and more but the thing is, i am more interested in having Indian food but the choice of Indian food is not much here, only a few items available to choose from.

Phad Thai Gai ( 675 Indian Rupee )

I order their Phad Thai Gai which is a famous Thai food in Thailand made from flat rice noodles tossed with chicken and tamarind sauce and it cost 675 Indian Rupee per plate. The serving size is crazy huge, i was struggling to finish one whole plate of Phad Thai by myself. The taste of the Phad Thai is good i must say, but it does not taste exactly the same as those you can find in Thailand. The frying of the Phad Thai is done very well, you can taste the heat from the wok and there is a little sweet taste to it. I like the peanut that comes with it and the egg that is wrapping the rice noodle. It is a satisfying good plate of Phad Thai. I complete my meal with a bottle of still water. The entire experience here cost me 1180 India Rupee which is kinda expensive but given the place is a 5 stars hotel and the huge service portion, i guess the price is reasonable. Overall, the place is clean and with good customer service.
