Nisarga Grand Restaurant | Hotel Nisarga Grand @ YMCA Compound, Bangalore, India

By : Chha

Now here is the thing about traveling over sea to a different country. We get to learn about other people's culture, their language and most importantly, the chance to try their food. So don't be confuse when people in India tells you that they want to go for a meal at a Hotel, because what i learn is, Hotel actually means Restaurant in India.

Good news for vegetarian food love. In Bangalore vegetarian food is everywhere, you can find vegetarian food easily. Nisarga Grand Restaurant or Hotel Nisarga Grand as how the locals here call it is a Pure Veg restaurant means it is a Vegetarian Restaurant which is located at YMCA Compound in Bangalore, India

There is a parking space outside of the restaurant that makes looking for parking easy and the Nisarga Grand Restaurant is full with people, i have to stand there and wait for a while before i can find a seating place.

North Indian Meals 250.00 Rupee

Their service here is a bit slow, you have to constantly flag the waiter and waitress down for them to notice you and to serve you. They will come to your table to take your order but later after your meal, you will have to pay at the counter. What i order during my visit is their rice set lunch, initially, i wanted to try their Paneer but it was sold out so i have to settle for their set rice. Surprisingly, one of the side dish that comes with the set rice is actually Paneer but only in small portion. The set rice comes with few different side dish of which are mostly curry. The curry in India is not very spicy but is full with herbs and spices. You can taste it in every mouthful is full of flavor. The rice set also comes with two pieces of Chapati. I really love the set rice, the Chapati is thin and easier to chew on, the size of each grain of rice is small not sure what type of rice they use and all these goes really well with the side dish curry. The portion of this set rice is big, i was bloated after finishing every food from the plate.

Gobi Manchuri 140.00 Rupee

Other than the set, i also order another dish which is made from cauliflower. It taste as if like it is a fried chicken but its not. This dish is call as the Gobi Manchurian and the one i order is the Cauliflower Manchurian.

The set rice also comes with two piece of Papadam, the Papadam here is special as it is made with black pepper in it giving it some slight spicy taste which is nice ! Something different from what i try back at my home country. There is also a bowl of tomato soup with some small cube of bread it it. It is nice to have soup and the bread to munch on before actually dig into the main course. The soup is decent but noting really special to shout about.
