One of the most famous hotel in Penang island has to be Shangri-La Rasa Sayang Resort and Spa which is located at Batu Ferringhi, Penang. Shangri-La Rasa Sayang does not need any further introduction, the name itself is famous in Penang. When ever anyone mention the name Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, instantly everyone will nod to agreement that Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is one of the best hotel in Penang.

Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang is a charming tropical retreat where holidays come to life where a luxurious escape means barefoot bliss and lazy sun-drenched days. Whether you are a couple seeking a relaxing sanctuary or families seeking family fun together, Shangri-La Rasa Sayang resort has an array of signature dining experiences, spa services that re-awaken, tranquil gardens that nurture through nature and a warm service that bring guests back again.

Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is a huge resort with plenty of space for guest to walk around and plenty of facility for guest to use. The price of staying here per night is not cheap, probably that is the reason why it is name as a luxury hotel in Penang, a night stay here will definitely burn a hole in your pocket unless you are a crazy rich person.

The room is really specious with a balcony overlooking the sea. I really like the room, it is clean and well maintain, even though Shangri-La Rasa Sayang has been operating in Penang for many years but the room still looks new and everything is functioning well. The air condition is cold, every light turn on fine, the hair dryer is working and the bathtub is fully functional too. I give a thumb up for their awesome maintenance.

The bath room is specious too and is very clean, even the mirror is spotless. There is bathtub in the toilet and they also provide a complete set of toiletries like Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel, Soap, Face Towel, Hand Towel, Shower Cap, Comb, Tooth Brush, Tooth Paste and even clean towel too. There are also Kettle, Ironing Board, Cloths Hanger, 1 Extra Pillow and Safe Deposit Box inside the room. Staying in Shangri-La Rasa Sayang you just need to bring yourself and some cloths.

I really love the view from the room's balcony. I can see the green grass and trees surrounding the swimming pool and also a great sea view from here. The best part is during the sun set where you can see the sun slowly set beyond the horizon and sea amazing sea view of Penang. In my opinion, i don't think anyone even need to leave the hotel to do anything else, just come to Shangri-La Rasa Sayang eat the food, enjoy the view and have a relaxing holiday only in Shangri-La Rasa Sayang.

Talking about food, the moment you enter the hotel, they will serve you with welcome drinks, then they also put some small souvenir for you in the room which is eatable. The souvenir are Penang local snacks, this gives tourist from overseas a taste of the local food here in Penang. Shangri-La Rasa Sayang also have their own restaurant which serve amazing breakfast and dinner.

There are a lot of food to choose from Shangri-La Rasa Sayang's buffet breakfast. The food range from our local favorite Nasi Lemak to traditional Noodles Soup and Porridge. There are also some Dim Sum, Sushi, Roti Bakar, Fried Noodles and many more. The wide range of food will definitely make you spoiled for choice and it taste good too.

One thing that i really like about Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is the scenery around it. The green trees and grass is really calm and nice to look at. Staying here at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is a very relaxing experience, spend few hours of walk around the compound of Shangri-La Rasa Sayang is really nice too. Shangri-La Rasa Sayang also has a lot of facility for guest to you, they have a clean swimming pool, a well equip gym and few more which i did not get to explore because i can't find where it is. I heard there is also a tennis court somewhere in Shangri-La Rasa Sayang.

Shangri-La Rasa Sayang also has its own beach area but only a small portion is actually directly connected to the sea.
