G Hotel hosted an unforgettable “Phantom of the Opera” themed staff party at their grand ballroom, uniting team members from both G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai. Staff dazzled in glamorous costumes, embodying characters like the Phantom, elegant damsels, and the mysterious Black Plague Doctor, making for a vibrant celebration!




The evening kicked off with General Manager Mr. Michael Hanratty expressing heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their incredible dedication, which led to record-breaking revenue and occupancy. The festivities included a spectacular opening act reminiscent of the iconic film by Mr Michael Hanratty and the hotel’s Head of Departments (HoDs), complete with a lively dubstep remix that got everyone moving.





The staff indulged in a mouthwatering international buffet, featuring BBQ fried rice, zesty Asam Laksa, savoury Seafood Aglio Olio, and a dazzling array of desserts, with free-flowing beer available throughout the night! In a fun and heartfelt twist, each Head of Department rolled up their sleeves to personally serve the dishes, making the night even more special as they showed their appreciation for their hardworking teams. The energy was high, and the food was just the start of an unforgettable celebration!






The entertainment was a showstopper, with electrifying performances lighting up the night! Two talented groups from the Food & Beverage Department, a dynamic team from Housekeeping, and a spirited group from the Front Office delivered unforgettable acts. The crowd was blown away by a mesmerizing “Phantom of the Opera” play, followed by a jaw-dropping Michael Jackson dance tribute that had everyone cheering. To top it off, there was a high-energy fusion of traditional Malaysian dances with a modern twist, keeping the audience on their feet and buzzing with excitement!




As the party reached its height, the Five Years Service Awards were presented to 12 dedicated recipients from Culinary, Safety & Security, Engineering, Human Resources, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Revenue, and Front Office departments. Each honoree was recognized with a trophy, honorary certificate, cash, and buffet vouchers, receiving warm applause from the crowd for their hard work and commitment.





The excitement only grew when the 10 Years Service Award winners took the stage, with a total of 7 recipients from various departments, including Housekeeping, Sales & Marketing, Safety & Security, Food & Beverage, Finance, and Front Office. The room roared with applause as they were honoured with gold pendants, cash, and buffet vouchers, celebrating their decade of dedication!

Then came the grand moment everyone was waiting for—the prestigious 15 Years Service Awards! Total of 6 outstanding team members were celebrated like stars: Directors of Rooms Syahreezal Bin Kamaruddin, Front Office Manager Derrick A/L N B Chandra Siri, along with Matardi Bin Hashim from Safety & Security, Thinagaran A/L Gopal from Engineering, Junaidah Binti Jaafar from Food & Beverage, and Koay Leong Gee from Culinary were celebrated like stars, receiving G logo Gold Coins, cash, and complimentary hotel stays. The crowd erupted, bringing the house down with excitement!

The night reached a thrilling finale with the recognition of Senior Duty Engineer, Mohamad Fitri Mohd Adnan and Reservation Manger, Grace Ooi Kah Siew as the Associate of the Year Award 2023 winners. Their victory sparked an eruption of cheers, with the room buzzing in celebration as their fellow staff applauded their well-deserved achievements!


The excitement reached a fever pitch with a thrilling lucky draw, where attendees had the chance to win fabulous prizes like laptops, smartphones, and even a Yamaha Ego Avantiz motorcycle! When the grand prize winner, Muhammad Amer Md Puzi from Engineering, was announced, the room erupted with cheers as he claimed the motorcycle after conquering the hilarious “Fear of the Box” game! The energy was electric, with everyone buzzing from the excitement!

The costume competition had the crowd buzzing with excitement as Nor Azlina from Food & Beverage stole the show, winning Best Female Costume with her jaw-dropping Black Plague Doctor outfit, while Shaiful Hambry Hamdan from Safety & Security wowed everyone with his stylish Viscount look, earning him Best Male Costume. Both walked away with RM250 vouchers to raucous applause!

The night hit its peak when the Food Fighters from the Food & Beverage Department were crowned champions of the best performance, winning a RM1,200 cash voucher and sparking a wave of celebration! The evening then closed with a high-energy DJ rave, where the staff danced the night away, capping off an unforgettable celebration.
