G Hotel Gurney is proud to announce the appointments of Farid Hazriq as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage and Chef Kenmin Foo as Executive Chef, both welcomed on board effective August 2025. These key leadership additions mark a new chapter for the hotel’s dining experiences, combining strategic operational excellence with world-class culinary innovation.
Farid Hazriq – Assistant Director of Food & Beverage
With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Farid Hazriq brings a proven track record in managing large-scale F&B operations and driving sustainable growth. He has held senior leadership roles at prestigious properties including Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, Ambassador Row Hotel Suites by Lanson Place Kuala Lumpur, Oakwood Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, and most recently Hard Rock Hotel Penang. At Hard Rock, he successfully managed seven outlets, generating annual revenues of more than RM11 million while elevating service standards and team performance. At G Hotel Gurney, Farid will spearhead the Food & Beverage division, with a focus on operational excellence, innovative service delivery, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
Chef Kenmin Foo – Executive Chef
With over 27 years of international culinary experience across Malaysia, Vietnam, Dubai, Macau, Hong Kong, Indonesia, and the United States, Chef Kenmin Foo is celebrated for his mastery of Chinese cuisine, innovative menu development, and leadership of multicultural teams. He has held senior positions at world-renowned properties such as The Venetian Macau, Madinat Jumeirah Dubai, JW Marriott Medan, Hoiana Integrated Casino Resort Vietnam, Vangohh Eminent Hotel Malaysia, Imperial Pacific Saipan USA, The Regent Kuala Lumpur, and Hotel Equatorial Malaysia, as well as running his own restaurant in Malaysia. Earlier in his career, he refined his expertise with Star Cruises Hong Kong, overseeing large-scale Chinese kitchen operations. At G Hotel Gurney, Chef Kenmin will lead all culinary operations, bringing fresh concepts that blend local heritage with global influences. His wealth of global experience will ensure every dining experience at G Hotel is both memorable and distinctive.
Together, Farid Hazriq and Chef Kenmin Foo will elevate the dining and social experiences across both G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai. Their combined expertise will enhance the atmosphere of the hotels’ bars and lounges, introduce refreshed beverage programs, and bring innovative culinary concepts that highlight both local heritage and global influences. Guests can look forward to expanded buffet selections, more engaging social spaces, live entertainment, and festive celebrations such as the signature Christmas buffets and grand New Year’s Eve parties, all designed to deliver memorable moments and world-class hospitality.
