Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House @ Mongkok, Hong Kong

Traveling to Hong Kong people are saying that accommodations are expensive and guest house are really small in size. Well i have to agree with that. Size in guest house is really small but the one i stay at Mongkok during my trip to Hong Kong is good enough for me. Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House is where i stay in Hong Kong. The guest house might look old from outside but it is actually pretty nice inside the room.

By looking at the photo above, you might think that the room is for two person but the truth is, it is for four person, it is really small for my opinion but the bed is comfortable and clean.

Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House also provide towel which they will change daily. If you are a cleanliness-conscious type of person, then the towel might not be suitable for you to use. They did clean the towel and change it during their room-service but there were one day where i found a long strand of hair inside the folded towel which clearly does not belongs to any one of us there. Other than that, the towel is good to use, haha !

Rooms at Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House is nice with hair dryer provided, room-service everyday, clean towel, a bottle of mineral water during arrival only, their reception service is really good. The reception is willing to attend to any of our need like checking in late, checking out early even thought their operating hours is just from 9.00 am until 12.00 am daily. When we have difficulties with our rooms keys or even some small minor problem that we face during our stay there, the reception is willing to help all the way with good manners and smile. Really a big two thumbs up especially for that one guy reception working there. Bravo !

Getting There :

Going over to Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House is really easy, you can either take the MTR from airport or by taking public bus from airport. Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House is actually located inside Sun Hing Buliding, so to make things easier, look for Sun Hing Building instead of Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House.

This is the entrance to the Sun Hing Building, so look for this building and you will find Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House.

By MTR to Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House (Estimated cost HKD 60.00)

• Take MTR from Airport then disembark at Tsing Yi station.
• Interchange to Tung Chung Line at Platform 4 to Hong Kong
• Then on Tung Chung Line disembark at Lai King station.
• Interchange to Tsuen Wan Line at Platform 2 to Central.
• Then disembark at Mong Kok station
• Take Exit E1.
• Turn Right while facing Nathan Road and walk for about 100 meters.
• Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House will be on your right.

By Public Bus to Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House (Exact cost HKD 33.00)

• Go to the bus stop at level 3 (tips : ask information counter, the bus stop is outside of airport which is kinda confusing for me to find)
• Take bus A21
• Stop at Mongkok bus stand in front of Sino Centre.
• Cross the road by using underground tunnel.
• Turn left while facing Nathan Road and walk for about 20 meters.
• Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House will be on your left.

Public Bus for the Airport route is comfortable with WiFi provided and area to place our luggage with CCTV to monitor your luggage just in case you are sitting on the upper deck of the double decker bus. Public Bus there uses either Cash or the Octopus Card.

Once you are at the Sun Hing Building you will see two sides of elevators. Take the one on your right, just ignore the sign board in front of you which show that Mongkok Hotel is on the left. Mongkok Hotel is totally different from Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House. So remember, take the elevators on your right and go straight up to level 24. Turn right and walk straight until the end and enter the door in front of you. That is the reception area for Kowloon Mongkok 1812 Guest House where you will do your check in.
