It is the time of year again to Celebrate the Prosperous Chinese New Year, so to mark the beginning of a prosperous Lunar New Year, lets toss to a good fortune and longevity with the Fatt Choy Yee Sang and Prosperity Poon Choi at The Light Hotel, Seberang Jaya, Penang. Poon Choi which is literally translated to 'Chinese casserole in a basin' used to be communal dish in the old days but now with premium items, it is one of the 'must have' dishes during this auspicious celebration. At The Light Hotel, their Chinese Sous Chef with 30 years of experience in Chinese cuisine, commented that cooking the Poon Choi is a tedious work. The layers of the items must be braised and cooked again slowly with gravy to ensure of its quality and retain the best taste. With that of good quality and good taste in mind, The Light Hotel not only come up with a brand new good menu for their Poon Choi but also a whole new list of food to be serve during this Chinese New Year.

This year The Light Hotel have 4 types of soup from Chinese traditional black chicken herbal soup, crabmeat soup, seafood chowder and cream of mushroom soup a variety unlike any other.

Yee Sang with Salmon and condiments will also be available on the buffet counter but if your prefer an ala carte order of Prosperity Poon Choi or Treasure Pot it is also available for only RM 588.00 + per serving.
Among others, The Light Hotel has also introduced the Hot Pot action station this year with up to 30 favourite items including array of seafood, vegetables served with option of either Clear Soup or Tom Yam Soup and selection of 5 types of noodle, you will definitely be spoiled for choice.

Feast on sumptuous festive buffet spread which includes seafood on ice, fresh catch of succulent juicy prawns, scallop and crab.
