I found a place to try Ramadan Buffet this year at Umi Restaurant at The TOP Penang, their Nostalgia Warisan Buffet Dinner is here and it is packed with traditional and local favorites, they have something for everyone. Nothing beats the joy of indulging in a spread of mouthwatering dishes, especially when the ambiance is nice and comfortable. This feast is a true celebration of flavors, bringing together a variety of tantalizing dishes that will leave your taste buds craving for more. The dining environment at Umi Restaurant exudes a cozy yet elegant charm. The warm lighting and Ramadan vibe decor create a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for gathering with loved ones. The buffet area is well organized, making it easy to explore the vast selection of dishes, while the gentle melodies of traditional music in the background add a touch of nostalgia. Digging into the Mains, there are food like Sambal Udang which is a succulent prawns coated in a fiery sambal sauce that strikes the perfect balance between spicy and slightly sweet. The deep red sauce clings to the prawns, promising an explosion of flavor with every bite. While the Kubis Bunga Sos Tiram is made from cauliflower florets stir fried in a rich oyster sauce, giving them a glossy sheen and a delightful umami taste. The crunch of the vegetable complements the savory sauce beautifully. Kupang Lada Hitam is also something to look forward to. The juicy mussels infused with bold black pepper sauce, offering a fragrant aroma and a spicy kick that lingers on the palate.

Ikan Masak Lemak Cili Padi is also something guest at the buffet can find. This is a classic Malay dish featuring tender fish cooked in a thick, golden coconut milk broth infused with Chili Padi giving it a Creamy, rich and tantalizingly spicy taste ! Gulai Kambing Ubi Kentang is a aromatic lamb curry stewed with potatoes until the meat is melt in your mouth tender. The gravy is thick and packed with spices, best enjoyed with fluffy white rice. Do remember to try their Daging Masak Hitam also, which is a beef slow cooked in a dark, caramelized soy sauce with hints of spices, creating a deep, complex flavor that is both sweet and savory. Giving guest more choices to choose from, they added the Ayam Masak Berlado which is a crispy chicken pieces drenched in a bold chili paste that adds an irresistible heat and smoky aroma to each bite. While for my personal favorite, their Bubur Lambuk with Condiments is something to look forward to. A creamy rice porridge infused with aromatic spices and served with an assortment of condiments for added texture and taste.

Enjoy their Roasted Whole Leg of Lamb and Biryani Rice, a slow roasted lamb with crispy, golden brown edges served alongside fragrant biryani rice, cooked with a blend of aromatic spices. There are also some side snacks made on the spot at their action station like Karipap Kentang Goreng, Keropok Ikan, Papadom, Keropok Lekor, Cucur Udang and Pisang Goreng. A delightful assortment of crispy and golden snacks, each offering a different level of crunch and flavor.
