* Thanks Rapid Penang for this collaboration and Uchino Ramen for hosting.

The name Uchino Ramen may not be a nation wide superstar but over the course of almost a year plus now, Uchino Ramen has made its mark in Penang and has been the talk of the town. There has been lots of positive comment about Uchino Ramen, so lets see why ! Uchino Ramen is strategically located opposite of Queensbay Mall, Penang which is easily reachable by using Rapid Penang.

First and foremost, as you walk into Uchino Ramen you are being greeted by a very welcoming modern Japanese setting environment with plenty of comfortable seating place and brightly lit place. This place is well organized and clean.

Midori Buta Kakuni Ramen RM 23.80

Here at Uchino Ramen, their pride themselves with their tasty Ramen hence the name Uchino Ramen. There are few different ramen to choose from their menu, there are Uchino Ramen, Buta Kakuni Ramen, Kazan Ramen and Kimuchi Ramen to name a few but the one i tried is Midori Buta Kakuni Ramen, the broth is very thick and strong with good flavor, it is green in colour due to the vegetables use in making the broth. Thought it looks green but the vegetable taste is not too strong making it perfect for any Ramen lover but there is another bowl of ramen with much stronger vegetable taste but i didn’t order it. There are juicy pork meat in it with a half size fully cook egg. The pork meat is tasty, it is soft and flavorful.

Ebi Furai Mazesoba RM 17.80

Ebi Furai Mazesoba is actually a bowl of Dry Noodles but in Uchino Ramen, it is serve together with a plate of rice which is mold into a cute triangle shape and a bowl of hot soup. The story behind the plate of rice being serve together with this bowl of noodles is because in Japan, locals there like to finish up those remaining ingredients or sauce from their bowl of noodles and not let it goes to waste, instead of just shoving them all in, they would prefer to have a small bowl of rice to go with the remaining ingredients in turn making them full too. Uchino Ramen want to bring this culture to Penang, therefore introducing the cute little triangle rice here, giving their diners an authentic experience like how Japanese does.

This bowl of Ebi Furai Mazesoba is serve with a big piece of tasty and fresh fried prawn, there are some mince meat and it taste a little bit spicy which gives extra flavors to the noodles, it finishes with egg and some vegetables. It is a tasty bowl of Ebi Furai Mazesoba.

Yaki Gyoza RM 11.80

The serving size of the mains here is huge but if the mains is not filling enough, Uchino Ramen also serve some side dish that you can have either together with the mains of after and before. Yaki Gyoza is one of the famous side dish here at Uchino Ramen, it is juicy on the inside and the juice will just burst out the moment you bite into it. The filling inside is a lot and yet the skin is not too thick making it very satisfying to eat as every bite i take is full of the fillings instead of just a thick skin.

Ika Geso Karaage RM 12.80

A plate of Deep Fried Squid Tentacles is always the best to munch on after a satisfying meal, therefore i ordered the Ika Geso Karaage, with a squeeze of lemon and its deep-fried crunchiness, this plate of Ika Geso Karaage taste good.

Matcha Latte RM 8.80

Flush it all down with Uchino Ramen variety of beverages to choose from. There are fruits juice like Apple, Orange, Watermelon, Carrot Juice and there are also other drinks like Pure Honey Lemon, Pure Honey Milk, Chocolate and a lot more, also not forgetting everyone's favorite, the Green Tea. I had a big cup of Matcha Latte which is packed with strong authentic Matcha flavor, an awesome way to end a meal at Uchino Ramen.
