Celebrate Christmas with a Gastronomic Soiree to Remember @ Sago, Penang Marriott Hotel, Georgetown, Penang

As Christmas is getting nearer, everyone is looking for a place to spend time with family and friend. Why not take this time to spend time with family and friends at Penang Marriott Hotel while enjoying their awesome Buffet Dinner. Stepping into the Penang Marriott Hotel's buffet dinner felt like entering a culinary wonderland. The aroma wafting through the air and the vibrant display of dishes instantly promised an unforgettable feast. With my plate in hand and an appetite to match, I embarked on this epicurean journey.








The thing i notice instantly was the way they serve their buffet dinner. Penang Marriott Hotel serve their food Wok Style where the food is serve hot directly from the wok. Food like Baigan Masala, Chicken Biryani Muradabadi, Dal Makhni, Kaalan Paratel, Lamb Achari and Panner Nawabi is kept hot in the wok which is something really nice as we get to enjoy the food hot. The Baigan Masala was a revelation as its smoky eggplant base paired beautifully with the earthy spices. Meanwhile, the Chicken Biryani Muradabadi was a comforting hug on a plate, the saffron and tender chicken melting in mouth. The Lamb Achari was a standout, its tangy notes complementing the succulent lamb pieces while Paneer Nawabi delivered creamy decadence in every bite.





Also from the Mains section guest can indulge in food like Fried Barramundi Fillet with Chili and Pepper Crumb, Wok Fried Kam Heong Squid with Curry Leaf and Dried Shrimp, Wok Fried Wagyu Beef Slice with Ginger and Scallion, Stir Fried Seasonal Vegetable with Shimeiji Mushroom and Garlic. These main offerings elevated the experience further. The Wok Fried Kam Heong Squid was a spicy, umami packed delight, while the Wagyu Beef Slices with Ginger and Scallion achieved that perfect balance between tenderness and punchy flavors. Even the humble Seasonal Vegetables with Shimeiji Mushrooms brought a satisfying crunch and earthy flavor.














Moving on to the carving station, Penang Marriott prepared food like Roasted 7 Days Aged Cherry Valley Duck, Chestnut Stuffing, Brussel Sprout, Honey Barbeque Chicken, Roasted Leg of Lamb with Rosemary and Garlic, Roasted Vegetable, Roasted Potato, Beef Terderloin Wellington, Roasted Beef Prime Rib with Grain Mustard. The roasted section was pure indulgence. The Beef Tenderloin Wellington stole my heart with its buttery pastry and perfectly pink center. The 7 Days Aged Cherry Valley Duck was aromatic and rich, paired beautifully with its chestnut stuffing. My personal favorite ? Is definitely the Roasted Prime Rib which is juicy, flavorful and paired with a zingy grain mustard that cut through the richness.








There is also something for all seafood lover out there. Fresh seafood like Flower Crab, Sapak Clams, Tiger Prawns and Bamboo Clam is also available during the buffet dinner. Seafood lovers can rejoice ! The Tiger Prawns were plump and sweet, the Bamboo Clams delicately briny and the Flower Crab a hands on delight. It was impossible to resist going back for seconds round.














To add more choices to anyone dining in during this festive season at Penang Marriott Hotel, they prepared more sides and salads like Plain Naan, Garlic Naan, Chicken Leg Tandoori, Lime Chutney, Cucumber Raita, Tomato Raita, Mango Chutney, Lemon Wedges, Mint Chutney, Jeera Papadom, Cheese Naan. Mixing up some local flavour into the buffet is really interesting. The Garlic Naan was perfect for scooping up every bit of gravy from the curries. I couldn’t get enough of the Chicken Leg Tandoori which is smoky, juicy and vibrant with spices. On the lighter side, the Cobb Salad was fresh and creamy, while the Roasted Beef Salad with its tangy, spicy dressing was a flavor bomb. Adding in some greens at the buffet is perfect for a balance diet. Salad like Classic American Cobb Salad with Ranch Dressing, Roasted Beef Salad with Papaya, Peanut, Scallion and Chili Lime Dressing, Chilled Roasted Turkey Ham Salad with Young Mango, Celery, Red Onion and Orange Vinaigrette is available.







As i always says, a buffet dinner will never be complete without a dessert and Penang Marriott Hotel got you covered with their multiple choice of dessert ranging from Santa Red Velvet, Earl Grey Mousse all the way to Christmas Tree Cupcake, Christmas Fruit Cake, Christmas Stollen, Panettone and more.












Having some freshly cut fruits is always nice during a buffet, adding in some needed vitamins and to flush down those tasty food into the satisfying tummy.
